Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on July 8, 2025July 8, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GOD’LL GETYA obvious has feet troubles so seeing the Bar Plates come off is a great sign. Won a barrier trial by 5L leading into last preparation when finishing fourth behind Pure Obsession, Spank Appeal and Shamillian Miss. Short course might be best for him? GOD SHE’S SASSY is produced first-up, no trial which hopefully means that David Harrison has her fit and firing ready to go fresh. MAXINE’S WISH showed some promise over previous campaigns and trialled well before a first-up flop (was wide throughout). MORF takes on the older horses and looks to have ability. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – GOD’LL GETYA WIN RACE 2 DIAMONDS’N’RUBIES was less than half a length off Scenic George and Setagaya first-up and with that pair both running really well since it’s enough to keep following her. Great effort last start and if Peter Gunn runs well Wednesday at Pinjarra the form will only look stronger again. MAJESTIC PRINCESS got too far out of her ground first-up to be a winning chance. ANKAREEDA looks like she’ll get over ground in time. Solid debut. PRINCE EPAULETTE was only 3.9L off Promising and Mangifera last preparation when a beaten $2.15 favourite. First trial handy, second trial moderate (kind?). Numbers: 8 – 7 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – DIAMONDS’N’RUBIES WIN RACE 3 TRIPLE THE CHANT resumed really well behind Naughty Tortie who simply ran them ragged. Thought there was plenty of merit in the effort of the filly to close the gap to 4.8L late and second-up should hold a better position in running. Nice race for her. STRAPPING PROPHET trialled quite nicely and comes through the same race as Triple The Chant. Wasn’t that much between them (apart from SPs). YANKEE ACE is trying hard and should get a similar run in transit to last start when third behind Glanced in a race dominated on speed. DELTA LASS ran a really cheeky race first-up last prep. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – TRIPLE THE CHANT WIN RACE 4 MIDNIGHT STAR ran a luckless fourth on debut at 1200m and then was sent straight to 1600m. CJP gave her a 12/10 as he cut his way through the field ahead of the equal favourite in Annie Warbucks before she was ultimately gunned down late. That should put her in a good position at her second run over the mile to break through. IFF YOU’RE READY has been solid into third at both runs back this preparation. RIBELLATO can roll forward into a spot. NOBLE REIGN is racing like he needs 2000m. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT STAR WIN RACE 5 KHUTOS went around in an identical 46+ last start when finishing less than half a length off the winner. Think that this time around he could kick through from barrier 1 to lead and that’s where he always did his best racing as a 3 year old. Hard to run down here third-up. CHEROKEE MISS is going better than numerical form suggests. The effort last start behind True Player was really good in a C3 which is a far better quality of race than this 46+. PERCUSSION PRINCE should be afforded every hope close handy. HE’SGOTWINGS a watch. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – KHUTOS WIN RACE 6 COSMIC ECLIPSE won like a nice mare first-up and then charged to the line at Bunbury from near last on the corner. Again likely to get back, that’s the concern, however, by this stage of the day you’ll know whether it’s outside fence or on speed. Easy sit and wait type of bet. RANDOM REWARDS finally broke through last start. There’s always been punters out there backing this mare so it was nice to see the support finally justified. AMARLIME is as honest and consistent as they come. 58.5kg and a wide draw are both tough for her to overcome but she gives 110%. SNIPPY SEAN drops out of a Saturday race and is well weighted after the claim. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – COSMIC ECLIPSE WIN RACE 7 MY IDOL charged home down the outside to grab Oisin two back and then held his own last start in a Saturday race. This is really good placement by Michael Grantham to drop him back into a 50+ and the Cerise and White put their faith in Amy Jo Hayes and her 2kg claim. Great race for him on paper. ROYAL TROOPER absolutely bolted in last start and horses are really (really) running for Holly Nottle. She’s a serious talent. COVENTRY REEF can go back to rolling along out in front. SIROTA was a massive run at his first outing for new trainer Josh Krispyn. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – MY IDOL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 10 3,4 1,3,4,10 1,2 Market Market
