Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 8, 2025July 8, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 COUNTRY GOD trialled super leading into his debut and it saw him go around favourite on a Saturday at Ascot behind Luana Miss and Baby Pearl. Clearly wasn’t right and was beaten a near 6L margin but after a spell has trialled well again and looks to have landed a winnable race at his return. Works forward to sit up over the speed and looks to have a real future. CALL ME FROSTY was green and wayward down the straight at his debut but still caught the eye. Should only improve with the experience. QUEEN SELYSE ran a ripper from off the speed two back. BINKY’S WAR next best. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – COUNTRY GOD WIN RACE 2 GUARANTOR and BRADBURY’S MOMENT both come through the same race behind the highly impressive Twisted Steele and that’s the obvious form reference to be following. GUARANTOR parked wide and had to sustain a run while BRADBURY’S MOMENT sat along the fence line and followed the leader through. Thought there was more merit in the effort of GUARANTOR so will side up with him over BRADBURY’S MOMENT. CIRCUS ANGEL like most of Luke Fernie’s looks a speedy jump and run type. BACKCHATTING broke 23 seconds in a 400m jump out. Has ability. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – GUARANTOR WIN RACE 3 PETER GUNN could not have done any more on debut when he rocketed home right down the extreme outside. Still not sure how he’s managed to run second considering he was still a serious margin off the horse in front of him with only 2 strides to go. Put the writing on the wall and hopefully from a better barrier he can get a better run. LUNCH IN PARIS promised to win a maiden all throughout last preparation but continually proved a costly and frustrating conveyance. She should have no excuse from the draw. ENCHANTED STAR comes through the Peter Gunn race. SPEAK OF THE DEVIL ran a great race at odds fresh. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – PETER GUNN WIN RACE 4 WHO SAZ YES probably should have gone close last start. The gaps just closed on Joey Azzopardi at a crucial stage, just as she was starting to really wind up into the contest. Donna Riordan’s yard is flying so happy to follow her through here. SETAGAYA makes the step from maiden into C1 company and rises in weight, a scenario which we are all too familiar with and is constantly proving difficult for even some of these lightly raced 3 year olds to navigate. QUICK COOKIE is racing extremely well. Wonder if she’ll back up into the Oaks? MEAN MACHINE has more ability than a C1 but strikes another tough set up. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – WHO SAZ YES WIN RACE 5 ACES TO WIN was stiff last start. Jefferson Tsang had him a perfect position until the top of the straight when the leader was wobbling around and there was only a marginal gap (which eventually closed) for him to try and work his way into. Horse is going super and drawn off the track means he can wind up in clear galloping room. SOLDIER OF GOD was less than 4L off them in a Saturday 3 year old event last start. HEAVENLY LADY was a huge run last start. Missed the kick by 5+ lengths and still beat half the field home. ONLY US has been a hard horse to catch across his career but has returned in good order. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 11 – 5 Suggested Bet – ACES TO WIN WIN RACE 6 LET’S TALK was beaten down the 1000m straight last start behind Empress Of India and Lord Shiva. Think the drop back to C3 company is the right move, the 3kg claim for Chanel Cooper the right move and getting back out to 1200m the right move as well. He’s a tough horse and can be put into the race from the get go. SMART ENERGY is a smart horse and a really good opportunity for Brandon Louis to kick home a winner for Simon Miller. He’ll be winning plenty of races across his career this horse. REPEATER bolted in first-up off the back of a hot trial. SILENT AMARDA won well first-up and maps a treat. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – LET’S TALK WIN RACE 7 LUCKY I AM is well placed dropping from a 3 year old Saturday back into a C3 F&M Midweeker. She’s drawn of the track and there’s a bit of speed underneath her but with the 3kg claim she’ll no doubt be on a high speed, high pressure, jump and run mission. If she crosses, it’s game on. MAI ALOHA contested far better races than this when last in work and looked good in her recent barrier trial. Pike jumping off Magicash to ride is a big indicator. MAGICASH is a winner and those types can often overcome tricky barriers and tough runs. COME ON EMMA looked lost on the Heavy. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – LUCKY I AM WIN RACE 8 SIMPLY THINKIN’ showed great versatility last start and was still there fighting on with 100m to go. She can go forward if it’s leaders, she can go back if it’s swoopers. She’s in really good form and she’s proven herself at this 0MWLY level. Trusting William Pike to make the right tactical call early from a tricky barrier. MANHATTAN STRIP won well fresh and then nothing was beating Dirty Chai the way she sprung the lids last start. THERMOSPHERE LAD did it really tough last start. With a clean get away he’ll land a nice spot and is hard to run down on his day. BOAB BOY was a good first-up run for Simon Miller’s yard. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SIMPLY THINKIN’ WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,5,6,11 3,4,6,11 2,3,7,8 3,4,5,6 Market Market
