Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on November 15, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SASSATIONAL trialed well and then found a couple of speedy types too sharp on debut. Draws gate 1, has blinkers added and falls into a race likely to be decimated by scratchings. Gets her chance. ROSEBUSH was unlucky to get nailed by a smart one first-up last preparation. Looks a fresh type who is the big danger. LACEVINSKY was not tested at trials and can position up close to the speed. REGAL MAGIC was handy on debut and can figure. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SASSATIONAL WIN Race 2 ARNIE’S BOY has run three good races so far this preparation and with blinkers going on he should be able to control the race from the breeze and prove too strong. Some of his early 2 year old form is sensational. INDOMINUS really was hitting the line hard late on debut and looks like a nice miler in the making. LIVING DAYLIGHTS was a nice enough run at Bunbury on Melbourne Cup day and should improve with the extra trip. VICE MASTER made a sharp but short lived run at the leaders last start, reasonable effort. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – ARNIE’S BOY WIN Race 3 PRECIOUS CARGO looks to have finally found her race. Contested mainly open 3 year old races her entire career and far from disgraced against quality Saturday opposition many times. This is her race on paper. FLIRTY FRIARS showed ability last preparation and trialed well. Looks like an uncharacteristic get back, run on Paul Jordan horse. POSITION OF POWER has trialed nicely for his return and can figure. FASHION ICON is extremely well bred but yet to really fire a shot. Given every chance last start. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – PRECIOUS CARGO WIN Race 4 ACRISS THE SEA has always promised to win a race and this looks a great opportunity to do so. With Jason Brown engaged he is likely to lead or sit outside the leader and gets his chance. KORANIS finished well off the winner first-up but the run had merit and he did show a level of ability in his first preparation. AL CAPITANO almost got the chocolates first-up and should only improve for the outing. SHEERNESS gets the run of the race and trialed well. Numbers: 8 – 10 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – ACROSS THE SEA EACHWAY Race 5 FIRST GROWTH has really hit form and this is not a strong stayers race. His only go at the trip was well below par but his two subsequent runs over 1800m have been great and the most recent was a strongly run contest. BLUE TRACER has come back very strongly this preparation. Noske will look to shoulder clear at the top of the straight and looks the danger. NAVY BLUE is obviously a hard horse to ride. He does a lot wrong but has a nice turn of foot when he is right. DRINK THE RAINBOW again box seats and is always there abouts. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – FIRST GROWTH WIN Race 6 FINALLY FRENCH looks to have brilliant claims in this race. Leaders went hard and fast first-up when he was punching the breeze and was entitled to fade late. Senior rider back aboard and his two narrow defeats to Masquerade looks brilliant form for this. SCARLET MISSILE took a long while to wind up and win on debut when backed from nearly black figures into $1.30. Looks to have genuine ability. BON VOYAGE bounced back care of a W.Pike special. Does it tougher here. CITICHANT gets her chance to lead them up again, jump and run. Numbers: 7 – 13 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – FINALLY FRENCH WIN Race 7 FINGERMARK was very stiff first-up this preparation when lobbing into the box seat and then never getting clear when the swoopers were making their runs three and four deep. Better suited here and if Stevie Parnahm gets him across he’ll be hard to beat. BOSS STRIKER has been eye catching at both runs since returning to WA. Wins one very soon. FREECELL has ability when right and was the target of constant backing last preparation. NORDIC KING can sprint well fresh off a soft run. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – FINGERMARK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5,8,9,10 1,2 7,13 1,2,4,6,9 Market Market
