This is horribly weak and his last few starts have been just as good as anything that runs around here over the 2200 on Thursday. Fingers crossed that Brad Seinor is finally rewarded for patience with a victory. APOGEE has been getting better with each run in WA and should enjoy a nice run over the speed. WHAT SHOUT got beaten out of sight at Junction then gave plenty of cheek in a C1. How? FEY KING is the lightly raced one. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – MELWOOD COAST WIN RACE 2 VALDARENA was scratched recently which is obviously a minor red flag but her two runs to date last campaign were impressive, including a runner-up performance to the sharp mare Becalotti. Has trialled twice and provided she can overcome a tricky alley looks to have found a winnable maiden for her return. KIRALUI has been impressing at trials and Team Pearce look like they’re about to go on another roll leading into the return to Ascot. Keep safe. ROCKET STORM has had five trials to prepare her for the races and gets in with only 53.5kg. COCKTAIL PARTY was annihilated in betting at York. Needed the experience. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – VALDARENA WIN RACE 3 BONDI BUBBLES finished a distant second behind Deamber last start at Northam but considering that mare went to Belmont and was backed into odds on in a C3 we can trust the form. This is a handy little race with a few chances and from the inside he definitely looms as one of them. ODIN OMEN had three starts in his initial preparation and all were far stronger than what he meets here. Maley’s are going well so keep him in consideration. DUBLIN RED always got a good wrap on the radio from previous trainer Luke Fernie and now joins the Fiore husband-wife operation. PLAYBALL looked good at trials behind Playing Games. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – BONDI BUBBLES WIN RACE 4 TRIO hasn’t raced for a while with the abandoned meetings at Belmont / Northam due to the rains a fortnight ago but you’re always happy to stick with a Grant & Alana Williams horse who races off a freshen/day-spacing. Loved the trials leading into debut and considering that traffic that he found thought he did a great job to close off into fifth. Just needs to find a spot from an awkward alley. HIERONYMUS BOSCH drops into a maiden for the first time in his life. DIRTY GIRL has put in two cheeky runs at odds in three starts so far. CANDLELIGHT SHERIF next best. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRIO WIN RACE 5 DEAMBER was backed into $1.90 in a C3 and went very close to running down Eevalina who enjoyed a far more economical passage in running. She came under pressure a fair way out but just kept coming to the line and actually had a really good lunge right on the post. Like it when you find a horse who will keep fighting under pressure and happy to follow her off that effort. DESENNAE is no slouch. Everyone who watches trials was raving about him on debut and he didn’t let anyone down. Was solid in two runs after and looks a nice type in the making. ALMIGHTY MISS gets the right run. SAMARIA an improver. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – DEAMBER WIN RACE 6 GHOBELLA was being spruiked on track at Belmont first-up after a really good 1000m trial. She only finished 9th but in a far, far better race than what she meets here. Drops out of a 66+ behind Red Fifty Three and Costazita (as well as many others who raced on Saturday at Belmont in the Sentimental Hero race) into a provincial C5. Great placement and a proven weight carrying mare who can come on quickly. CALL AGAIN showed that his Belmont Park record is just a number. He goes well enough there and should bounce straight on the top in this. HIBISCUS LADY sneaks under the radar coming back in grade. THERE’S A CHANCE wasn’t bad fresh. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – GHOBELLA WIN RACE 7 KING’S FLIRT was just run down first-up when leading over 1200m and then second-up was able to get off the back of sharp 1000m mare City Angel and nab her right on the post. Had to dig deep to score and now finds what looks an equally winnable race here. She’s got a level of versatility and she’s more than capable. CUT THE TALK beat a very weak bunch first-up and now hasn’t raced for almost a month. This race is 5L tougher than first-up but he did win effortlessly. Query the form, respect the yard. BRIGHID isn’t an easy mare to catch but this is her kind of race. I’M EUGENE has turned a corner. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – KING’S FLIRT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,9 1,4 1,2,4 1,2,3,6,7,9 Market Market
