Scott Embry’s Thursday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 2, 2019October 2, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VENGEANCE OF WAR looks like breaking his maiden status at start number 7. Placed on four occasions he does a bit wrong in his racing but should bounce to the top here in a weak field and simply prove too good. Likely opens ~$1.32 however. SURE CONVICTION is improving into the preparation and the logical danger. ROSEICAPILLA ran a much improved race last start and should run well again. GOD’S LAND ran far better than the more favored leader in his race last time out. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – VENGEANCE OF WAR WIN Race 2 CHAPASCO will get Pike punters tongues wagging again early. This one likely opens $1.45 and should produce a similar result to the first. He is a stayer in the making and likely rolls forward to sit over the top of a moderate tempo. If he is going to win races in the metro area then he needs to win here. ALL MAN is starting to show his staying potential and is the biggest danger. THE ENCHANTRESS has tempted punters all preparation. SCHOOLING can stay but prefers the dirt. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHAPACO WIN Race 3 DIRTY DOT ran well on debut to go down the narrowest of margins and then at her second outing was crossed and never looked comfortable before sitting in the breeze at her most recent and running well. Unlikely they’ll look to hand-up here. FISHY continued to go round short last preparation and is speedy but not overly strong. EMERALD ROSE has had a lot of chances but is racing well and draws a far better gate than recent runs. EMPOWERED put in a couple of handy performances in his Neville Parnham days. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – DIRTY DOT WIN Race 4 WOCKNWOLL should be another winner on the brilliant book of rides for W.Pike. She absolutely brained them last start with her eyes closed. She actually drops from a 64+ back to a 58+ which is a placement master class from Mr Peter Fernie. This one opens ~$1.70. WHERE’S WALLY has had a tough campaign having been scratched behind the gates at his most recent. His best is easily good enough. TRUTH AND LIES is not a Kal horse but is racing well. PALMA MERENTI can always flash late. Numbers:2 – 1 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN Race 5 I’M ICEY looks a play on what is a very thin day prices wise. Neville Parnham has had a wonderful season bringing horses to Kalgoorlie and this is a leader who is dropping in grade. His last two have been a shade below his best but in tougher grade than this and he looks like finding the top. PASTRY is better than what she showed fresh. Simply got gassed in running by Nemiroff. WATTO’S FURY is arguably the most consistent galloper in the region and always runs well. CONCRETE MADAM won well last start but this is much tougher. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – I’M ICEY WIN Race 6 THE LAST WALTZ went round at 100-1 last start but was a big run in defeat. Draws well, Craig Newitt jumps aboard and could sneak in under the radar. Worth a nibble at a price. TAP THE GO GO has been ready to win all preparation and now teaming up with William Pike who by this stage could be gunning for 4 or 5 winners looks extremely hard to beat. Natural back marker who could be wide the trip however. GLUTEN FREE was deep the trip last start but still a shade disappointing. CAMPAIGN ran well for a new stable fresh. Numbers: 13 – 7 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE LAST WALTZ EACHWAY Race 7 RED PUBLISHER should enjoy a very nice run forward of midfield in an even and deep traditional annual Hannans Handicap. Brilliant field assembled as it is every season but the effort of Red Publisher in the Farnley was as good as any. Eachway hope all day. TELLEM WE’RE COMIN has the race to lose. 54.5kg on his back and drawn a gate, he will jump a clear cut and popular favourite. PYM’S ROYALE is 7 from 7 undefeated at Kalgoorlie and even though the draw makes it tough he is flying and classy and drops 8kg on his Kambalda Cup win. ABDICATOR was huge in the Farnley and races on speed. ROGER THE ROMAN has run back to back 2nd placings in the Hannans and is again in form. Ripping race. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – RED PUBLISHER EACHWAY Race 8 NEXT STOP THE MOON should cap off a big, big day for Willy Pike and a bigger day for favourite backers and multi players across the country. His form is simply superior to rivals and he opens ~$1.65. Leads and takes serious running down. CAN HE RULE HER is in a purple patch but runs into a nice one. MONASH drops back in trip and has shades thrown on. TUMBLEWEED TANGO had been racing well before finally breaking through for another win after over 1000 days. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – NEXT STOP THE MOON WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3 2,3,5,7,10,13 2,3,9,10,11 1
