Scott Embry’s Sunday Toodyay Preview Posted on September 21, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 LUCKY ESCAPE has the best rider in the race and one who can wind them up a long way from home. Toodyay you need to get going before the home corner and Noske is the perfect rider for just that. KEEPER MEAN steps up sharply in trip but certainly trialed like the trip will be up his alley. KWIK FANTASY could well find herself last after jumping. Will need to be coming three deep at the 800. VAPORISER can sit on speed and whack away. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – LUCKY ESCAPE WIN Race 2 GAELIC STAR could find the front and if he does then is definitely the one to run down in a very weak maiden. That’s the spot to be at Toodyay and Staples loves to lead when she can. BELLFLOWER is drawn awkwardly but Yuill will almsot certainly send her forwards to punch the breeze. KAYELMAR gets back in the run but was a nice effort last start. SNEAKY DEVIL had no luck on debut and can improve drawn a gate. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – GAELIC STAR EACHWAY Race 3 OLGA LOUISA trialed like a filly who would be winning her fair share of races. Caught in an awkward spot first-up and Staples should be able to fire straight to the front and prove too classy. HITCHIKER sat outside the speed in a strongly run 1000m race at Belmont Park. That’s easily the best form reference here. ROGER THE DODGER is better suited back in trip here. PATRONS CHOICE trialed well over a subsequent winner. Keep safe on debut. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – OLGA LOUISA Race 4 FORK HANDLES has had one start on the track and that could be of great benefit. Steele Casey has his team going great guns and the form does stand out. Could well be too quick for them. MORE BXAAR has wonderful race form for a race like this but the mare is one dimensional and must get back on a track which doesn’t look to suit. ASK LISA is another who tends to get off them in her races. VELVET VIXEN could be pushed out, no surprise to see improvement at odds. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – FORK HANDLES WIN Race 5 STOCKYARD GOSSIP is perfectly placed to bounce back into the winner’s enclosure. Has some nice midweek form against talented types including Multiverse at her most recent. Likely to park deep the trip. MOLLY TWOHUNDRED was very disappointing first-up but leading them on the Toodyay track should see her improve. TAP THE GO GO is honest and puts herself into a position close to the speed. LOOKING ON has gate speed to hold a spot close handy. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – STOCKYARD GOSSIP WIN Race 6 ROSE’S SHADOW looks to have the Cup as his to lose. He has drawn a gate, has Jarrad Noske aboard and his most recent effort against far superior opposition was strong when leading at a cracking tempo over the first 1000m. Great race for him. OUR MATE AL has been savaging the line but getting back at Toodyay, especially in traffic is never ideal. PERCEPTIVE MISS is another who will concede them a head start. Watch her run 14th Feb 2018, that’s the J.Brown special she will need. THE KARNUP KID will put the acid on a fair way out. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – ROSE’S SHADOW WIN Race 7 PIXATED jumps off the page with a significant riding change. 4kg claiming apprentice replaced by one of the State’s top 3 riders. Should be very hard to roll. TIPS AND SCANDALS got a long way off them first-up when making solid ground behind the ultra talented 3 year old filly Dance Music. That kind of form sees her right in the mix. DEMI GO ROUND has the speed to lead them up from the gun draw. LARKING should sit just behind the leader and get it soft.
