Scott Embry’s Sunday Port Hedland Preview Posted on June 28, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HORAAN has his first start for the Krista Pike team and first start on the dirt. If he shows some of the early dash he did at the start of his career he should hold up from the inside and be hard to run down. HEROIC WORDS is getting close to a maiden win. JESTER DINI has had numerous attempts to break maiden status but best efforts would be good enough. DESERT GOD could improve at a price. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – HORAAN WIN Race 2 COSTA OESTE has his first start for Bob Bell’s travelling team and his last few efforts in Albany towards the end of the season were excellent. Big strong type who could roll straight to the top and be simply too good. DEADLY TOUCH bolted in last start at Roebourne, this is slightly tougher. VOLKSWAGON FRANK can always be in the finish in this grade. LOOKING GREAT is the first ride for Troy Turner off the back of a provincial treble. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – COSTA OESTE WIN Race 3 MISS HARLEY QUINN was beaten by King Cool last start in a race which smashed the clock. Minor query over the 1400m but if sticking the trip out should prove too slick for these. SCOOTER’S MACHINE is the likely leader and one to run down. DEDAY is ultra consistent and rarely puts in a bad one. SUNSET PETE has been poor since joining the Pateman team but shades could help. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MISS HARLEY QUINN WIN Race 4 LIES IN DISGUISE was scratched when last accepting and now has her first start for Catherine Godden. She has blistering early toe when unleashed and should lead them on her ear. You’d imagine on metro and provincial form she’ll be winning plenty in Port Hedland. BODEGA BEAU has been the target of late support on multiple occasions and is bursting to win a race. PRINCESS SHARI broke her maiden well. ORBIT THE SUN carries a big weight but likes it on the dirt. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – LIES IN DISGUISE WIN Race 5 KING COOL smashed the clock last start and if he reproduces that effort it is unlikely that they’ll be able to hold him out, especially drawn the inside. INCOHERENT is a veteran of dirt racing and the stablemate to the favourite can run a cheeky race with any luck. NANGA PARBAT is very speedy and could easily cross them. NICKJAKLU is no stranger to the region and normally hits form around this part of preparation. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – KING COOL WIN Race 6 BALLIDU BOMBER has been a wonderfully consistent North West commodity for season after season for various yards. Can lead and can run away with it up in grade. BALROV is a very similar animal, ultra consistent and faultless in recent form. trainers. FRINGED was beaten first-up but loves Port Hedland. ANVIL GREEN is another track specialist who can win. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – BALLIDU BOMBER WIN Race 7 MICK’S TIPPIN’ is always hard to run down especially with a clean get away. Last start was unable to reel in Atarenza who did bolt in but can turn the tables with a cleaner start. ATARENZA absolutely belted them last start when leading from start to finish. A repeat performance probably sees a repeat result. SCORELINE has been out of form for a long time but shades on and drawn to get a lovely run. SPEED ‘N’ REEF is racing well below best but capable on his day. Numbers:2 – 5 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – MICK’S TIPPIN WIN Quad (Race 4 – 7) 2 4 FLD FLD Market Market
