Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 28, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FISHY looks poised to break through at his 6th career start. His chances are enhanced by one of the state’s best riders Chris Parnham and with any luck in running he should be notching up his first victory and putting a smile on the face of Young Parnz. JACKS FROST looks a progressive galloper who improved with every trip to the races last preparation. Won’t take long to win one. FIRST STRIKE hasn’t been at her best recently, but the ability is there. SIMPLE AS THAT runs honest races but looks as likely as Adam Zampa to trouble the scorer. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet: FISHY WIN Race 2 LITTLE FLIRT looked the winner when only being gobbled up late by Yankee Girl. With a slightly smoother run in transit the filly can take care of them here. Worth an investment with the regular rider of Flower of War engaged. NICKLAUS has so far promised the world and delivered an atlas but if the penny was to drop he could have a fruitful preparation. BIG RANSOM has had plenty of cracks at it and is probably looking for further but don’t be surprised to see a bold showing. FOXY DREAMER gets all the favours from the draw. Numbers:11 – 4 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet: LITTLE FLIRT WIN Race 3 DAZZLING POET drops back to his right grade here after an eye-catching performance when racing 7 points outside the handicap last time out. Kate Witten has gone to a new level since joining new management and a repeat of that effort sees him right in the finish. WOCKNWOLL knows how to draw a bad gate but if she gets a cart into the home straight she can certainly be finishing the strongest. PEARL OF THE PLAIN is a note fresh performer and is a month between runs. With the rail out she takes catching. INDRIEL towballs pearl of the plain and can give cheek. Numbers:3 – 6 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet: DAZZLING POET WIN Race 4 THE CRUEL SEA has to carry the grandstand but the veteran grey galloper has the credentials to do just that. Has carried 60+ for the majority of his last two campaigns and Parnham has the option of rolling to the front or trailing behind anything that may kick up on his inside. If he can dictate in front, he will be there a long way. MOTORVATOR was a slashing first run for Dave Smith and looks suited to this trip. Will be finishing hard. GRAND CADEAU scored a well-deserved victory after a consistent start to the season and another win wouldn’t shock. DON’T SPEED can play a part at odds. Numbers:1 – 9 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet: THE CRUEL SEA WIN Race 5 HAYAN LAD looks another nice chance for the Neil Dellar yard on the card. Needs luck from the high draw but was an emphatic 2nd up winner and the post race comments suggest he can further elevate and is set for a breakout campaign. Stablemate BEVEL looks ready to run a race and maps to get the right run throughout. GLIMMER GIRL has been luckless since arriving on the Goldfields and deserves to break through. GANGBUSTER is drawn well and given the trainer/jockey combination, has to be respected. Numbers:6 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet: HAYAN LAD WIN Race 6 DRIFTWOOD GIRL looks a handy pickup for Esperance based trainer Helen Harding. First up run for the stable was very encouraging behind an above average type and although the wide draw looks a query on paper, no one is riding the track better than Kyra Yuill. ICE ONE is a progressive type who will be winning races this preparation. ALL SQUARE has runs on the board at this track and the regions leading trainer can get her back to that form. MAULDENS MILL is worth watching fresh. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet: DRIFTWOOD GIRL WIN Race 7 HARRELSON has been a model of consistency since joining the Cambana Lodge stable. Drawn the fence expecting Parnham to sit close to the speed and be forging a passage at the top of the straight. WEMBLEY DAYZ can spear across in a handlebars down approach and with the rail in the 7m position, prove very hard to run down. SONG OF WAR is drawn awkwardly but can make one run at them from off the speed. THE CORNISH has her work cut out from the outside barrier but will be doing her best work late. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet: HARRELSON WIN Quad (Races 4 – 7) 1,3,9 2,3,4,5,6 2,3 1,9 Market Market
