Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 22, 2024March 22, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ON A WINNING DAY was very stiff last start. She was really well supported late in betting and she was climbing over the back of them for the majority of the home straight before flashing late. Drawn towards the outside fence and is going well enough to finally break through. PIN DEEP is again drawn to hug the outside rail and lead. That naturally makes him hard to beat. CRIPPALENKO wasn’t disgraced in a Westspeed Platinum two back and then last start was nailed by Ahyeahrighto in the final stride. AIN’TSOBAD showed ability winning multiple trials and now has race experience and a senior rider on. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – ON A WINNING DAY WIN RACE 2 LOMBADINA was stiff last start. She was pocketed for the majority of the home straight and only got out once the race was all over. She can lead this field and from there she would take running down. SANDFIRE ROSE likely looks to breeze outside of her and she was the target of big money in betting last start. DUG ANOTHER HOLE did it tough on debut in the same race when parked three deep the trip without cover. Thought all things considered he actually did a reasonable job to still be there with 100m to go. 1400 back to 1200 and drawn to get a far softer run. STRYKER’S GAL has taken a while to get to the races but has shown glimpses. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – LOMBADINA WIN RACE 3 BEAU TALK had his first start for Chris Willis and he was caught wide and working throughout. Considering that Macciateau has come out and won again at Belmont on Wednesday and the runner-up Biondo will be popular later in the program happy to follow that as a form reference and suggest that he’s a live chance in a wide open race. HAYDROSS was in the same event and found the line well. He’s had a lot of chances but from time to time can show a good turn of foot. SAMURAI WARRIOR makes his debut over 1400m and the way he trialled that’s an excellent starting point for him. KING AND QUEEN gets out in trip and that looks more suitable for her. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 15 Suggested Bet – BEAU TALK EACHWAY RACE 4 BIONDO ran a narrow second behind Macciateau last start and he’s since come out to carry 59.5kg and win a C1 1600 at Belmont on Wednesday. David Rudland calls on the services of Paul Harvey and the following the Pontiff on a Sunday is about as religious as this author gets. He’s been building and building towards a maiden win and this looks his best chance yet. CRYSTAL ROSE will do her usual thing – she’ll come out running and she’ll kick hard into the corner. She’s giving 110% but just continually finding one better. KNOCKONEBACK was astutely found at a big price by punters last start when $51 into $14 and running third (post-protest). ENDLESS JOY is going far better than her SP profile would suggest. Numbers: 5 – 12 – 6 – 16 Suggested Bet – BIONDO WIN RACE 5 JUST SAINT JAMES showed ability at trials and then did what the vast majority of horses are unable to do on debut – win up the ‘wrong’ side of the Pinjarra straight. Love the way he attacked the line and while it’s rare to go from a maiden straight into a C1 and win again he looks progressive. KIRALUI trialled the house down at Lark Hill and gets all the favours from barrier 1. TENACIOUS REWARD is better than what he produced first-up and has been given an 8 week let-up in between outings. GOLD VANCOUVER needed to beat that lot at Gero last Sunday. This is tougher. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – JUST SAINT JAMES WIN RACE 6 PLATINUM SHOT has her first start down the straight which is always a big unknown but she could not ask for a better C3 in which to have a crack at it. Finished second to Diablo Lad last start who has since run second to Wubin Gold and she’s got a level of versatility about her race pattern. SHELL BELL has been nominated, accepted and scratched many, many times over the 83 day period between her first-up run and Sunday. If she starts she must be respected as a jump and run type down the straight. STARS A PLENTY goes good fresh. FLYING ARABIAN an improver. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – PLATINUM SHOT WIN RACE 7 DEFENDING finished third beaten a length to Indie Ruler in a Westspeed Platinum first-up and since then has gone to a 60+ Grad and 2x 72+ races including finishing third behind Ice Pick Nick and subsequent winner Sisu Warrior (Races Saturday at Ascot). Looks his best chance yet at breaking through this campaign. SHAKA ZULU is better than what he produced last start at Ascot. Another who drops right back in grade and can improve sharply. SIMPLE LOGIC can ride the speed behind My Baby Blue Jean and that’s where he does his best work. BREAD TO FLIRT is consistent. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – DEFENDING WIN RACE 8 HOLY ENCHANTMENT showed in the Bunbury Cup that he’s more than capable at this level. He was $18 into $8 and the punters almost got it spot on. Gives every impression that he’ll appreciate the extra distance and he stays on the 54kg limit. No speed in the race is not ideal for him but Brad Parnham knows him well and can make the move when necessary. CASINO SEVENTEEN was enormous with the 62kg last start. Jarrad Noske gave him a 10/10 and he almost lumped the weight to victory. He’s a ripper. QUEEN ALINA will appreciate the trip. BLAZING AWAY will be within striking distance in a race with no speed. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – HOLY ENCHANTMENT WIN RACE 9 RUN PATTIE RUN should be peaking third-up from a spell. Raquel Williams puts a set of visors on her filly and steps her out to 1500m. Both look suitable changes and from barrier 4 Stevie Parnham can have her poised and ready to strike just behind the speed. The two horses who beat her home last start (Influencing and Fly With Caution) would be winning this. Looks an ideal set up for her. IMPERIALIZE is on trial at 1500m but if Lucy Fiore could bully her way to the top here and find the fence then it could bring him right into calculations. TRUEVINSKY brings the unsuspecting 52+ York form but did savage the line. SNIP’S ROCK continues to go well at a price. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – RUN PATTIE RUN WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,4 1,2,4 1,3,4,6 1,6 Market Market
