Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 20, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 COOLGARDIE AL ran second behind Hillbert who has since dominated rivals in a Class 2 and Premio Momento who won it’s next race by 8. That form speaks for itself. STRATUM PASS hasn’t been too far away in tougher races and looks well suited back to the 1400m. BELLFLOWER didn’t offer much at Pinjarra last start but prior form was suitable for a race like this. ROSY MORN should find this the easiest race she has contested for new connections. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – COOLGARDIE AL WIN Race 2 COSMIC EYES has had an interesting career to date. Attempted to buck twice and been non-competitive. Trialed the house down on multiple occasions. She’ll be short and risky but looks to have untapped ability. SORKHOKHTANI sounds like the small Balinese island Mr Peter Fernie will be buying after the dominating season he is enjoying, seeing them like Virat Kohli. Trials hard to gauge but stable humming. BANGCRASH was banged around the bend on debut and luckily didn’t crash. Will find this much easier. STOLART had no luck last week. If she jumps and runs could take some catching. Slippery type. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – COSMIC EYES WIN Race 3 SENORITA BONITA couldn’t find the front on a day where leaders were at a real advantage. Swift Sis makes the form excellent and she is extremely well weighted today after the 3kg claim of Jade Mcnaught. Looks very hard to beat here. VONUS is stuck in no man’s land at the moment ratings wise and is struggling to measure up but gets a nice run here. BELLS TOWER hasn’t been seen for a few months, was racing extremely consistently before his break. TAX A MILLION had a 4 year absence from the track and is yet to recapture his form. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SENORITA BONITA WIN Race 4 HAYAN LAD spent his first start for Neil Dellar out on the Charles. Was 5 & 6 deep the entire with both fronts on the street over the fence. Senior rider on, off 7 days. Appeals. SHAKEDOWN rattled home on the fence and with a clean passage would have challenged the winner. PREMIO MOMENTO simply annihilated a very weak maiden field last time out. A repeat of that performance probably attracts interest from Kosciuszko slot holders. SUPERFINE has been luckless since joining Ashley Grace. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – HAYAN LAD WIN Race 5 RARE SELECTION was very heavily supported in betting at his first start for Peter Fernie, running second to in-form mare Chhaya. Was then posted 3 deep the trip over the 1760m and boxed on well. Back to 1400m looks suitable. SKY ATLAS resumed only fairly first up no trial but you always have to respect the Ashley Maley travellers. BADGE OF COURAGE likely sit outside Outer Detention and lumps 60.5kg. Vulnerable. OUTER DETENTION led and kicked strongly at his most recent to score by a length. There is nothing to suggest he can’t do the same here. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – RARE SELECTION EACHWAY Race 6 MERVYN has taken his racing to another level since his move to the Cambana Lodge and looks set to further add to that success today. Is dynamite at 1100m and the 3kg claim of McNaught a luxury. FOXY ROYALE keeps sucking us in but also continues to chase hard. Again suited by the anticipated hot speed. ANOTHER DEMON is a chance of being posted three deep the trip here. LITTLE HERCULES gains leading rider Mitchell Pateman today, only has a 40m sprint so will need to be saved as long as possible. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MERVYN WIN Race 7 WOCKNWOLL has really grown into this campaign and seems to be taking a step forwards with every trip to the races. Will settle on speed again here and is sure to take some running down. TAKE THE STAND lost no admirers last time out, bombing the start and chasing home the talented Badge Of Courage. TRUTH AND LIES was eye catching last start off the speed on a heavily leader bias day. MYBAK has been dealt another barrier blow but it’s hard to forget his Kalgoorlie-Chautauqua like win 2 starts ago. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4 1,2,3,4,5,6 1 1,2,7,10 Market Market
