Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 16, 2023June 16, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AIDAN’S CHOICE had his first start for Gary Bowen last Sunday when charging home into second behind impressive roughie Mr Snips. Was a 3L margin back to second but like the way he wound up late and hopefully on the quick back-up he can step cleanly and hold a position in what looks a winnable race. EBONY’S ACE is a jump and run type of filly who should be finding the top and giving a decent kick on straightening. TREBLE MAKER has blinkers on and only 53.5kg as a 2 year old filly taking on the older opposition. Is the half sister to talented Goldfields 3 year old Princess Chunk. TIMELY ADVICE tries hard. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – AIDAN’S CHOICE WIN RACE 2 HEAVENLY MISS did it tough last week. She was three wide throughout without any cover and now the booking of Clint Johnston-Porter really catches the attention. Thinking that he will look to cross them early and take it up on the mare and from there she’s hard to beat. Lucky Number 24? EXALTED ROCKSTAR improved sharply last start when finishing fourth behind Great Demon. Should get a cosy run from the draw. GOT LUCKY got to the front half way up the straight last Sunday and then was gobbled up over the concluding stages by Laughing Buddha. Drops back to 1400m and gets an identical run in transit. Has had 18 cracks at it but is getting close. JAGUAR JACK ran well in the same race finishing off into third. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – HEAVENLY MISS WIN RACE 3 SEMIGEL put in his best run in 12 months last weekend. He settled last over 1300m and got the line really powerfully late to finish only 3L off Nurhaci and Men’s Club. This looks a weaker race 7 days later. YOYO’S was held up the entire two starts ago and looked to be bolting. She was three deep throughout without cover last Sunday and fought on well enough to finish only 4L off stablemate Love Drunk Baby. JAG THE JOKER finished third behind Captain Sharmane last start at Pinjarra. She’s rock hard fit, she tracks the speed and she’s well placed into this grade of race. Austin Galati’s claim is an added bonus. JAKESTAR ran really well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – SEMIGEL WIN RACE 4 DOUBLE SPICE doesn’t do much racing in the country area anymore. Since winning at Pinjarra in a Heat of the Sky Provincial Series he has finished third behind Kosta’s Crown in a 66+ at Ascot, second to Man Crush in a 66+ at Belmont and then blew out when parking up over a hot speed outside Puli in a 72+ won by Rokanori. That race has already produced Hint Of Mint to a metro win and Rokanori goes round favourite in a 78+ on Saturday at Belmont. Hard to look past even with 60kg. TALK IT UP has come back bigger and better this time in. He showed dazzling speed to cross last start and then demolished them. Respect. DUNBAR tracks through along the fence. HILTON may not have appreciated the wet track at Northam. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE SPICE WIN RACE 5 HOLE IN ONE and HIDDEN RUBY met in a C1 1100 21 days ago on 28 May. There was little between them that day with HOLE IN ONE gunning down HIDDEN RUBY in the concluding stages. There’s only a half kilo weight swing here so there shouldn’t be anything between them again. Sticking with HOLE IN ONE who looks to be flying this campaign. HIDDEN RUBY will park up over the speed and holds a tactical advantage over her stablemate in running. She’s come back in super order. VRANYO is very quick. She’s now even got shades on. MRS KANGAROO next best along the fence. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – HOLE IN ONE WIN RACE 6 MAKIN PROPHETS was stiff to run into a pair of talented youngsters in Californication and Who Be Whatee. Lead them up, gave a good kick on straightening and yet couldn’t go with them over the concluding stages. Out in trip looks to suit and his previous effort in a 58+ wasn’t too shabby. Just needs to navigate a sticky alley. SEND ‘EM jumped out of the ground in the same race over the last 100m. Great run. FREE SOLO is frustrating. He has ability but he runs his races in patches. DANCING JACK gets back and needs the pattern to allow for swoopers. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAKIN PROPHETS WIN RACE 7 LINCOLNS LAW is in a rich vein of form. Massive win two starts ago when given a 12/10 going from four back the fence to four deep without breaking stride on straightening and then was caught up in a lot of traffic last start and had his momentum stopped a few times as he was trying to make a sustained run. Laqdar seemingly picking him over Vinyl is a great push. BILL THE BEE deserved that win last Sunday and can go on with it now. GLUTEN FREE isn’t an easy horse to catch but did win a 66+ only two starts ago. This is much easier and it looks a big program for CJP & MR Peter. VINYL is a talented mare. She chased hard behind Bill The Bee last week and now gets out to a mile. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – LINCOLNS LAW WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5 2,3 2,3,4,6,7,11 1,3,5,6,7 Market Market
