He was the best horse out of the machine but with plenty of speed drawn to his inside Brayden Gaerth looked for some cover. Unfortunately for his punting following there was no cover to be found and he was forced to tramp three deep without cover the entirety. Kept coming to the line and looks hard to beat (but drawn awkwardly again). HIT THE LIGHTS was first-up 130mm and battled away well. If she rolls to the top she’ll take running down. LAUGHING BUDDHA was right alongside her in the finish and should be again. NORTHERN SUNRISE next best. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – SEND ‘EM WIN RACE 2 TIMELY ADVICE has had two starts in Kalgoorlie: third behind Picquancy and second behind Hidden Ruby. It was a blanket go for the minors ~4L behind the impressive filly Hidden Ruby and there’s clearly not much between many of these maidens. FLOBA holds his head high and does plenty wrong but he’ll be pinching a Kalgoorlie maiden this season. CJP jumps on and when he eventually finds a race where he can lead, he’ll go close. CALIFORNIA RISING should find this lengths easier than recent starts. Holds a spot from the draw too. WE WONDER WHY was working home well last start but is a 17 start maiden. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – TIMELY ADVICE WIN RACE 3 MEN’S CLUB showed no signs of stopping last start at 1200m. Personally thought that was about his distance limit but considering he meets a vastly similar line-up to last start when leading and winning over 1200m by 3.5L see no reason why he can’t repeat the dose 12 days later at 1300m. 60kg now so the handicapper is catching up to him. After this probably has to head back to town (or claim). KAKADU didn’t go to that race and attacks this 22 days between runs. He gets 4.5kg on Men’s Club from their April 15 encounter. Danger. DUNBAR finished second behind Men’s Club last start beaten 3.5L and only meets him 1.5kg better. Hard to turn the tables considering the margin. SOLARIZE next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – MEN’S CLUB WIN RACE 4 FILTHY HABITS went to a 58+ last start and was parked no better than three deep the trip without any cover. He drops back into a C2, has a senior rider on and strikes a race where he can march across and breeze outside The Huntsmen (or even cross him). Think we finally get a chance to see him roll from the 1000. CHANG MAN finished 3L off Abloh last start in a muddlingly run C1. There was pressure a long way from home and he took off three, four and five deep a long way out. Thought he sustained the run quite well and now with a senior rider on looks one of the main players. FREE SOLO was super last start. Ready to win. DANCING JACK is going better than numerical form in town suggests. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – FILTHY HABITS WIN RACE 5 JUST GOT PAID went from a maiden win into a C2 when finishing a head off Total Lockdown. Drawn to get the run of the race from the inside gate and a senior rider goes on. Could be a big day for the CJP/Mr Peter Fernie combination. CHARCOAL CHAOS was a tough watch last start. One thing you can’t do is question Tash Faithfull’s willingness to push into a marginal run and have a dip for punters. Will have gone into plenty of Blackbooks. BOONDI ROCKS trialled the house down on 7 April. Hasn’t been seen since which is a concern. MRS KANGAROO is better than what she produced last start. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – JUST GOT PAID WIN RACE 6 PLAYTHATFUNKYMUSIC is finally starting to put it all together. He was a frustrating follow in Perth because he was laying in so badly in his races and simply refused to go straight. Since heading to the Goldfields he’s put together two impressive wins and looks to be improving with racing. Lovely race for him on paper. Parks up over the speed and takes real running down. WISE WORDS is yet to reproduce the impressive first start in the region when beating Mens’ Club fair and square. Men’s Club has really franked that form since. Looking to her to bounce back. ABLOH got the job done last start. Query is coming back in trip. Just needs to qualify for the $100,000 final over 1400m. DAWN AMNESTY always dangerous late. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – PLAYTHATFUNKYMUSIC WIN RACE 7 VINYL has been unreal at her last two. She simply pulled her way through heavy traffic to score two starts ago and then went from a C2 to a 58+ and toyed with them. She was winning that race a long, long way out. She’s versatile, she’s in form and she’s smashed the clock at her last two. See no reason why she can’t make it three in a row. The draw is the unknown element. TOWN HALL was nabbed on the post first-up no trial and then got the job done well at his second outing. J.A Mason has him flying and from all reports is happy to tell you about it too. ANNA’S BOY was disappointing last start. Previous win was strong. CELEBRITY WITNESS will appreciate some weight relief. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – VINYL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,6,8 4,5 1,2,5,7 2,3,8,10 Market Market
