Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 23, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ANGELIC MOON is a 3 year old filly taking on the older horses and stepping up to 1300m but she does look very well suited. No weight, ideal draw and if she can reproduce her first-up effort she’ll take beating. WATTO’S ASSASSIN has had a number of chances to win a maiden but struck a bit of form since joining Freddo Brown. NORD AVENIR was backed hard in the provincials and now goes up to Kal. We’ve seen in recent weeks the provincial maiden form holds up. ROSEICAPILLA is yet to show her trial form. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ANGELIC MOON WIN Race 2 TAJMALI should clear them from the outside gate and find the front. If Miss Slater springs the gates on the inside then she will have to sit in the breeze but is capable of doing so. 1100m is the perfect distance for such a speedy filly. MAGIC PLANET was backed strongly last start in a metro midweeker. This is an easier assignment and he should go close. MOONLIGHT’S REWARD showed ability in his first campaign for Gary Bowen. LADY LE JEAN fresh can run a race. She raced below her best last prep. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TAJMALI WIN Race 3 SENORITA BONITA returns to the Cambana Lodge stable after a couple of failed metro runs with Trevor Andrews. She comes back to Kalgoorlie, draws perfectly and provided she jumps cleanly will either lead them or take a sit. Either way she’s awfully hard to beat. BADGE OF COURAGE will stalk the speed battle and get last crack at them. BELLS TOWER was flying when last in work. Great opportunity for Kate Southam to ride her first Kal winner. VIKING FORREST is a live hope. He can run some big late sections. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SENORITA BONITA WIN Race 4 FAIR SONARI is yet to trouble the scorers in the slightest this preparation but this is good placement by an astute yard. Has been lumping top weight in 64+ races and now falls into a small field, no leader and gets weight relief. He should give a big kick turning for home. RHINO BUSTER hit the line well first-up at 1300. He is better suited at a mile and looks the danger. BARRY’S RABBIT bombed the start first-up. He has a few tricks but he is in the mix. SANDALWOOD was travelling first-up and looked the winner when Pateman pushed off the fence. Didn’t quite flatten out but better for the run. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – FAIR SONARI WIN Race 5 RECAPITULATE has been running big races of late. Three deep the trip no cover two starts ago over a 1760 and hit the front at the top of the home straight. Last week again stepped out over 1760. Back to 1400m, off 7 days, no weight and drawn to lead. Ticks a lot of boxes. WATTO’S FURY is in white hot form. Continues to head to the races and continues to show his best. KNIGHT TEMPEST went below expectations last start but the maiden win before was strong. NICKLAUS draws wide but was strong to the line last week. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – RECAPITULATE WIN Race 6 DANEFIN has his first start for new trained Rod Brown. His metro and provincial form over the last 2 to 3 years is all strong enough to win this. 1760 looks a perfect trip for him and Kate Witten knows him well. Watch for him steaming late. MOTORVATOR has really turned a corner since joining Dave Smith’s in form yard. Needs to get across but if Bennett gets over he’ll fight out the finish. THE ENCHANTESS keeps running ‘back me next start’ type of races. Will break through soon. ALL MAN is racing well and never far from the winner. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – DANEFIN WIN Race 7 EXCARO returns to the races and has arguably been the find of the season. High speed mare who has been beating rivals at the 600 when she starts to run them off their feet. Drawn wide we’ll see how she’s come back. HALLDORA joins the yard of Jayden Thomas and all of her Geraldton form is good enough to win this. EVOLUTIONIST needs the speed on and will get last crack at them. FEARLESS GENERAL could end up in a nice position in a high speed race. Keep safe if the fence is on. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – EXCARO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,5 4,9 3,4,5,6 1,3,4,5 Market Market
