Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 31, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 INJECT THE VENOM exceeded expectations when taken to town by equine genius Mr Peter a fortnight ago. Has now benefited from a run over the staying trip and this race looks to be at his mercy. MACAVITY doesn’t appear to be going as well as he once was but may appreciate getting back on top of a good track here and can improve sharply. DECOY NOXIOUS hit the line strongly last start and will be afforded all the favours from the inside gate. SPIRITUAL WARRIOR won impressively and there was a good push for him in the Blue Spec room last weekend from his loyal strapper. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – INJECT THE VENOM WIN Race 2 ILLMATIC wasn’t disgraced when first up in a stronger maiden race in town off a 400m jump out. This is a much more suitable race for him and Autier could make it two from two early in the day. DISNY caught the eye fresh behind a talented type. Gets an identical run here and has to go close. KING FOR LIFE could find the front and trials suggest he has enough ability to be competitive here. May pay to wait for the shades to go on. MIRISISTABLE can be the big improver at double figure odds. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ILLMATIC WIN Race 3 MERVYN raced like a horse who was physically and mentally drained before a short break. Freshened up he will spring the gates for the self-proclaimed King of Kalgoorlie, formerly Provincial Prince, and be in front for a long way. SENORITA BONITA lost no admirers when she contested a much tougher race in town. She is very consistent and racing in super form. PENALTY POINT first up maps to stalk a hot speed. Can figure in the finish. BOS TAURUS can run a race but will need luck from the outside gate. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – MERVYN WIN Race 4 WATIJADOO has been a model of consistency since joining the Nev Parker yard. Doesn’t go an inch first-up and is hopeless on rain affected tracks. Second-up, rock hard Kalgoorlie track and free wheels in front. Keen. HAYAN LAD has had no luck at all since arriving in the Goldfields and proving hard to watch for his loyal followers. Can’t jump off him yet. BANTRY looks a nice stayer on the rise and if he salutes here there will be three generations of drinkers hitting the Gold Bar. SONG OF WAR cannot be discounted if they are making up ground. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – WATIJADOO WIN Race 5 DON’T SPEED was the beneficiary of a gun ride from in-form hoop Renee Forrest when breaking a frustrating run of outs. She can sit right on the back of The Delorean here and if Forrest finds daylight, make it 2 in a row. THE DELOREAN should dictate in front without a great deal of pressure and from there is very hard to beat. BJORN TO LOVE broke through at his most recent run after knocking on the door most of the preparation. This looks winnable. MAKURU is racing fairly, just wait for her to hit Esperance. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – DON’T SPEED WIN Race 6 LITTLE FISH just keeps winning and should make it 5 from 5. Enjoy another perfect run in transit and hard to see rivals turning the tables. BEVEL was eye catching behind Little Fish when they last met and can settle closer today from the inside draw. LITTLE HERCULES was scratched on vets advice behind the gates here 7 days ago but the form behind Pyms Royale and Turbo Power is too good to ignore. CHANTEGO STAR was an improved effort last time out and can fill a place. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – LITTLE FISH Race 7 CLOAK AND DAGGER is hard to go past after two imposing performances since joining George Grljusich. Ryan Hill positions him in a very similar run to last start. PALMA MERENTI probably needed the run when resuming behind Another Demon. Can play a part in the finish here. HILLBERT was thrown in the deep end when asked to tackle some smart types before a let up. Was 2/2 for new connections prior to that run and was backed as if unbeatable on both occasions. MISS SLATER can lead and give some cheek for trainer Beeps Allen. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – CLOAK AND DAGGER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4 1,4 2 1,3,4 Market Market
