Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 27, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BUFF MAN was heavily supported at Northam last week and ran a gallant third. Has always looked more than capable of winning races. This is one of his easiet assignments and shades go on. SMARTRAVELLA will enjoy a soft run from barrier one. Has been knocking on the door and running big races. ASTROPHOBIA looked the winner at his most recent and just peaked on his run. Breaks his maiden soon. HOORAN shot up the fence at Northam in what was a much-improved effort for Albany based trainer Harry Rogers. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – BUFF MAN WIN Race 2 THE BLACK JEEP was forced to tramp wide from the 600m last time out over the mile. Seems to improve lengths when ridden by the self proclaimed King of Kalgoorlie. Today might just be the day for little Beep Beep the Jeep. ROSY MORN is on the back up after an impressive debut for the David Smith yard. 1760m looks right up her alley. OUR MAORI BOY has had 38 chances to win one but is racing in good enough form to win this. CYCLONE MAN could not have physically raced any wider last start and probably covered 2000 plus. Drops back in trip and senior rider aboard. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE BLACK JEEP WIN Race 3 BOOMA LACKA is a one pacer who is suited to rolling out in front or being wound up a long way from home. Booking of a senior rider should assist in one of those options being taken. INJECT THE VENOM came from off the speed on a leader dominated day at his second start this preparation. That win has to be respected. BJORN TO LOVE maps to enjoy a cozy run and has been building to a win. THE DELOREAN has been a model of consistency for Pat Bermingham Snr and is sure to run another honest race here. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – BOOMA LACKA EACHWAY Race 4 DON’T SPEED has put together two eye catching run in a row from off the speed and can settle a bit closer here from the good gate. This looks his best chance all preparation to win a race. MAJOR MAMBO didn’t look to run out a strong 1760m so the drop back to the mile is positive. MEDICI VASE disappointed when sent forward on a leader bias track last time out. NOIR DE RUE has been lifted off the canvas by Muscles Pateman his last two and will need to be big again to win. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – DON’T SPEED WIN Race 5 OORAH produced an exceptional turn of foot to win 2 starts back and followed that up with a tough on speed effort last time out. A repeat sees her very hard to beat here. COSTA OESTE hasn’t been setting the world on fire at the mid-weeks, but this looks his right kind of race, especially at a mile. DECOY NOXIOUS can be hard to ride but Ryan Hill has a good rapport with these types of horses aka Baraki Beats. SONG OF WAR has drawn off the fence today which should allow him to work into the race. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – OORAH WIN Race 6 PYM’S ROYALE has been the best addition to the KBRC since Pauly Sortras. Looking to bring up win number five in the Goldfields and all things equal he wins with a leg in the air and gives Mitchell Pateman a headache choosing his Hannans ride with Where’s Wally ready to resume. IT’S DYNAMITE looks suited to the drop back to 1200m and the aggressive riding style of Matthieu Autier. HILLBERT is undefeated since joining Mr Peter Fernie but cowers in the shadows of his star stable mate here. TURBO POWER will sit close to the speed and look the winner at some point. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – PYM’S ROYALE WIN Race 7 WOCKNWOLL backs up after a disappointing effort over the 1200 here last weekend. Lucy Warwick jumps aboard and she drops back to 1100m off 7 days. Ticks enough boxes to give her another crack. FOXY ROYALE may have forgotten how to win but continues to run strong races chasing in harder company. PASTRY carries only 51kg of McNaught and has the natural speed to burn to the front. MISS MERIT returns after a short break and although this is short of her best trip, expect a forward showing. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 12 – 6 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,9 2,4,5,7 2 1,5,12 Market Market
