Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 11, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BURNING MAGIC was solid at Kalgoorlie and is well placed here. She is a mare who can position just off the speed and Andrew Castle rides Geraldton very well. Should be given every chance. SWEET HELEN is worth keeping in mind from the box seat. MISINFORMED BEN trialed really well and broke his maiden well. FORTUNE MAKER will be looking for further. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – BURNING MAGIC WIN Race 2 SCENIC CHARM has always shown ability but never really been able to put it all together. Trialed like a star on a number of occasions when with Darren McAuliffe. First-up run for the Hammarquist yard was excellent. COCKY ED trialed well enough to give this a shake. SPOOKWOOD has always looked like one who would break through sooner rather than later. TEXAN BLITZ fresh from Albany can run a race from the back. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SCENIC CHARM WIN Race 3 EBONY’S WAY has been racing well in the metropolitan and provincial area. Should lead this field comfortably and from there be a class above moderate opposition. DANCE QUEEN was bitterly disappointing first-up after a nice trial effort. VICTORY CITY is brought up to Geraldton by the Harvey team and her trials have all been good. BREEAQUA first-up no trial is a watch. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet – EBONY’S WAY WIN Race 4 WAR JEUNE was never on the track first-up and faded badly. His previous Lark Hill trial was sound and his race form all last preparation in Albany in this similar grade was good. He is usually ultra consistent and should benefit greatly from the first-up run and the barrier draw here. SADLER’S HILLS went through the grades last preparation and can run a race fresh. ROCK MYLADY had two runs for Peter Fernie in Kal and comes back to Geraldton with fitness. NUN OF THAT won well last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – WAR JEUNE WIN Race 5 SONG OF VINCENT is a jump and run commodity. He showed above average ability in the metro area and then was sent up to Broome as part of Jake Casey’s team and had a very fruitful prep. If he jumps cleanly he leads this and takes real running down. BAY PUBLISHER was well placed first-up when scoring and should only improve into the preparation. Wins a couple of 70+ race this time in. FLYING ROAR will improve as they step to 1300 and 1400. HALLDORA was good enough in Kal to compete here. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SONG OF VINCENT WIN Race 6 M’LADY joins Sarah Childs stable with half siblings Akiko and Crypto. She draws soft, races well fresh and is well weighted in this grade. More than capable on her day and should be winning a few 58+/70+ races this campaign. MIKIMOTO GIFT is speedy and will look to burn out early for Bennett. JENABEL is better suited over a little further but will be doing her best work late. PARISA can sprint well off a soft run, keep safe if the fence is hot. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – M’LADY WIN Race 7 MEGAZONE travelled like the winner in running when caught in an awkward position three and four back the fence and then never saw daylight in the straight going through the line under a hold. Banking on Jade McNaught to settle a pair closer and get the splits. CLASSIC CHANT is a speedy mare who should lead them for a long way. BULL BIZARRE is suited over further but draws well and is progressive. CAN HE HUSSEL can win with the right run. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – MEGAZONE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,6,9 3,5 1,3,4,5 1,3 Market Market
