Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on February 11, 2022February 11, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PARLARE is coming out of a metro maiden when finishing second behind Rulelee. She goes to a 58+ at Ascot on Saturday and goes around pre-post favourite. Great placement, great use of the Taj Dyson claim and with Taj booting home a few winners recently he gets another chance to get the ball really rolling. MINNO was well thought of on debut and didn’t fire a shot on a heavily rain affected surface. Trial was solid. EXQUISITE STAR was plunged last start but never travelled like the winner at any stage. Shades come off. SURVEILLANCE is a career maiden. He needs everything to go his way. Numbers: 3 – 11 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – PARLARE WIN RACE 2 SEND ‘EM won a recent Belmont Park barrier trial in great fashion winning by over 1L and travelling well throughout. Troy Turner rides for an in form Meryl Hayley and if Send ‘Em can get across from the middle of the line to sit over the speed he will take beating. HERO OF THE DAWN is on debut for the Adam Durrant yard. He produced 3 winners and 2 second placings from 5 runners at Albany on Thursday and takes another strong team to Geraldton. Logical danger. YES MISS JANE is a work in progress but she has a level of ability. MEGA REWARD was a big improver last start. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – SEND ‘EM WIN RACE 3 NURHACI looks the biggest treat to Startrade and you would think logically if Startrade is to be beaten in a Geraldton 70+ it is by a horse who settles in front of him rather than a horse who settles behind him. On that basis NURHACI could be the horse to test him here. There looks a real lack of genuine tempo here and Nurhaci should waltz to the front. With no pressure he kicks hard into the corner and has a weight pull on the favourite. STARTRADE is an emerging talent from the mid-west and it is only a matter of time before Kim Anderson takes him to town. He’ll measure up in a 60+ Graduation or lower 66+ at Ascot. TRICK TRIX is in a rich vein of form. This is her toughest test yet. JUPITER RISING gets back and runs on. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – NURHACI WIN RACE 4 ROME was very disappointing last start. His previous win was excellent where he unleashed a powerful turn of foot down the outside but his most recent was very plain. Steps out to a mile and ridden cold from the outside gate fingers crossed he can recapture his best. Taking him on trust. STOCKTAKA is a hard horse to run down if he can find the front. Great use of the Dyson claim to get him back to a winnable weight and race. CHIX CHATTER is back in form and from the draw should do no work in running offsetting the 61kg impost. YANKEE LIMA comes to Geraldton and should find this easier than the Ascot/Belmont midweekers. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROME WIN RACE 5 ROCH LEGACY comes from a C2 into a 58+ which is not easy even in the country areas but was a strong weight carrying performance last start and ran into a pretty handy one in Dark Peak. Thinking that if Dark Peak was in this race she would be favourite and the fact that it took the entire length of the straight to run down Roch Legacy puts her in good stead for this assignment. BLACK MONEY can mix his form from time to time but on his day he’s a talented stayer. STRONG HEART is racing a length or two below his best at the minute. Blinkers back on might see him sharpen up again. This is a great race for him. GALAXY BLAZE should get every mortal hope here. Perfect draw and Lisa Staples riding well. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – ROCH LEGACY WIN RACE 6 CORN COB is a lightly raced and progressive 3 year old. The big concern is that he is now deep into his initial preparation but think that from the draw with the senior rider on he is worth another go. Should get the right run and if he races tractably he’ll be there in the finish. ADMIRAL HUSSON is an all or nothing commodity. If he can find the front he’ll take running down, if he can’t then he’ll find it hard to win. CHOIX DE LACE is eligible for easier but she’s flying and from the draw looks to get a gun run tracking the speed. PIT TO WIN brings an X-Factor to the race. Hasn’t been seen since November when finishing only 1.5L off Significant Hero. Reproduce that run and goes close. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – CORN COB WIN RACE 7 SKIPPING DIGITS was super strong on debut. Only won a Geraldton maiden but he was afforded no favours in running when wide and working throughout. Was still far too strong for them and the late money suggested that the stable was expecting him to do exactly that. Looks a nice type and this is a great chance to stay undefeated. THE SINGING TIGER was well commissioned last start in betting and didn’t let his supporters down with a dominant all the way win. Goes from a C1 into a C2 (relatively similar in country areas) and only rises half a kilo. Should be highly competitive again. ELIMINATE is having her first start for the new yard. Looked like making a nice 3 year old at one stage when with Neville Parnham. WUNDERKIND is the perfect kind of horse for Luke Campbell to learn his craft. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – SKIPPING DIGITS WIN RACE 8 CONSTANT DREAMING looks an Oaks kind of filly in the making. Might be a cog below the top level fillies from a class perspective but she certainly looks like she has the determination and the staying potential to make into a nice horse. Debut run left more questions than answers and then made amends for it at start number who in a sit sprint when forced to reel off some big closing splits to run them down. Absolutely no luck at start number three and now returns off a freshen up. Nice race for her. HAS NO FEAR should work to the top and control the tempo. POPCORN TENDER has run some nice races in his career to date. Just needs luck from the draw. SWIFT GONDO gets a lovely run along the fence. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – CONSTANT DREAMING WIN RACE 9 SANS LE SOU just keeps winning and just keeps being perfectly placed by Gordon Spowart. Won a C2, won a 58+, won a 58+ and now for a third straight time tackles 58+ company. Proven weight carrier (winner with 60, winner with 59.5, winner with 59) and maps a treat from the draw. Hard to think that she won’t loom the winner at the top of the straight the way she’s going? ONE FOR THE ROAD just kept coming first-up at 1400m and the step up in grade means he gets in with only 55.5kg. If Adam Durrant has had a big day by race 8 then it could well continue into race 9. FOXHOOD has rarely run a bad race. Now with Barry Newnham, keep safe. RIO ROGUE won the Walkaway Cup last start. The query is back to 1400. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SANS LE SOU WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 5,6,8 1,10 1,7 1,12 Market Market
