The Scout: Super Bowl Preview Posted on February 11, 2022February 14, 2022 | Posted by The Scout Cincinnati Bengals vs Los Angeles Rams The Los Angeles Rams (15-5) will be looking to become the second team in as many years to win the Super Bowl on their home field when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals (13-7) at SoFi Stadium in LA. The Rams earned their spot in the Super Bowl with playoff wins over Arizona, defending champions Tampa Bay and San Francisco while the Bengals, after winning just four games last season, make their first Super Bowl appearance since 1988 with wins over the Raiders, Titans and Chiefs. Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow is the NFL’s new poster boy (and every casual fans new favourite player) but he will need to be at his absolute best against the most devastating pass rushing defense in the league. The Rams are a balanced side with (super)star power on either side of the ball, but it’s the combination of Aaron Donald and Von Miller that will pose the most danger against a weak Bengal’s offensive line – an offensive line that allowed their quarterback to be sacked nine times against the Titans! Matthew Stafford has been putting up MVP numbers through the playoffs, throwing for 905 yards and eight touchdown passes. Stafford has built a great partnership with wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who led the NFL in receiving yards in the regular season, and leads that same category again in the postseason. The addition of Odell Beckham Jr gives Stafford another weapon at his disposal, with OBJ building nicely throughout the playoffs, topped off by his 113 receiving yards in the NFC Championship game against Kansas City. It’s long been said the defense wins championships, and if that has any truth to it, the Rams will be winning Super Bowl LVI. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald is a beast, and will need to be double (or triple!) teamed all game, leaving holes in this Bengals offensive line. I think the Rams win if they play their normal game on offense, and let the defense take care of the rest. SUGGESTED BET: Rams -4 (Line) @ $1.91* MVP: Matthew Stafford @ $2.30* SAME GAME MULTI: Rams | Beckham Jnr to Score a Touchdown | Stafford Over 2.5 Touchdown Passes @ $5.60* *Odds correct as at 9am, 10th February 2022.
