Scott Embry’s Sunday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 6, 2021August 6, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 KENDEL’S IMPACT may be a 27 start maiden, however, has only had one start on the dirt and it was highly encouraging. Settled rearward over the 1000, sat deep throughout and kept coming late. Steps straight out to 1400m which should suit, Tash Faithfull takes over riding duties and has dominated all season and he looks a live chance of breaking through. SUPER BON was a sharp improver first-up to second-up and now looks ready to win one. EMPIRE KHAN has done it tough at his last two. Has enough ability and has promised to win one for a while. POP THE MOET has put in three eye catchers out of his last four. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – KENDEL’S IMPACT WIN RACE 2 MARXIAN may meet Jenabel 4kg worse at the weights for only a quarter length victory first-up but should only improve with the experience of the first start on the dirt and be improving fitness wise on his way to the 2021 Carnarvon Cup. Just needs to step from the inside draw to stay out of trouble and he’ll be hard to beat. JENABEL is the obvious danger with the big weight swing. Nat Burke’s yard has been going super split between Carnarvon and the NW all season and see no reason why she can’t win. HOT STYLE was a big improver at the most recent meeting when pushing talented stablemate Casual Trade to the line. MADRID CENTRO jumps and runs as always. Just not the same horse as 2020. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – MARXIAN WIN RACE 3 MOVENZA has done nothing wrong in the last month, except go under at her last two! Broke her maiden in a bit of a shock at 20-1 but then backed it up with the fastest 1200m win of the season when beating Verdigras in a C1. Sat three deep the trip in a 56+ when finishing fourth to Klondike Kenny and Mordor before running back to back second placings behind Carelessly (subsequent winner) and Pelican Pick. 1400 back to 1200 and just needs to come out running to get across. KLONDIKE KENNY has a senior rider on and Mitch Pateman goes to Carnarvon on a Sunday for 4 rides. You’d think one of them gets the cash? SCOTOPIA returns to Carnarvon where he won impressively only five starts ago. Forgive and forget his Port Hedland/Roebourne form. THE FULL QUID is always going to be a tease. If she jumps and leads it’s over. If she doesn’t its over for her. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – MOVENZA WIN RACE 4 MYSTICAL MAN should be continuing on his winning ways as Zach Tyler no doubt contemplates whether or not to push on to the 2021 Carnarvon Cup with his flying 4 year old or tip him out and aim him up at the Cup in 2022. For those who usually play the annual Carnarvon All-Up challenge with the breakout performer of the season (Behrooz, Madrid Centro and now Mystical Man) the current race to race to race all-up has paid $5 and we’ll be rolling at least one more time. Don’t let us down now! PELICAN PICK can put in runs like he did last start from time to time. Don’t think he has the ability to hold out a Mystical Man but he can definitely run second. VITAL BOOM gave some cheek last start when $31 into $10 and now meets Mystical Man 5kg better. RIVAROLA brings the alternate form through the upper NW and is rock hard fit. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – MYSTICAL MAN WIN RACE 5 CATIA drops 7kg from last start when finishing fifth behind Kramden, Woodbug and Stride Out. We’ve seen the form hold up through Stride Out and the last time Rosie Mahony rode the mare she burst through gaps late to score with 53.5kg. Looks a very similar set up here with her engagement and provided she can hold a position in running looks hard to beat. Going super in the new environment. KRAMDEN ran them ragged last start with 63.5kg. Mitch Pateman takes over riding duties and he drops 2kg. Will have a lot of admirers again. Can he cross? BEHROOZ is likely to kick up underneath him and is always hard to beat over the short course. MOMENTS OF MAGIC is going to be hit and miss. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – CATIA WIN RACE 6 JUPITERS SUN has been knocking on the door all campaign and with the senior rider on and back into a C3 he looks to have finally found his race. Second in a 56+ behind Catia when throwing it away at the 100, third to Klondike Kenny and subsequent Minilya Sprint winner Mordor in a 56+, third behind Casual Trade (subsequent winner) and Nobel Image in a 56+ and fourth in a 56+ most recently. Drops into a C3 and is drawn to stay out of trouble. Like him here. CARLESSLY showed last start that the C3 (maiden) win was no fluke and has found her feet on the dirt. Hard to beat again no doubt. SHIVERS OF JOY doesn’t win out of turn but is rarely far from the action. LAMPLIGHT LILI is going to be hard to follow. She’ll either spit the dummy with the kickback or run straight past them. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – JUPITERS SUN WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,4,10 1 1,2,3,4,7,10 4,5,6,9 Market Market
