Scott Embry’s Sunday Carnarvon Preview Posted on June 19, 2020June 19, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ANGEL JUPITER was jumping out of the ground late last week at her first start on the dirt. She got through the going which is a huge positive and Madi Derrick’s 2kg claim is luxurious in the metro area, let alone in the country. Should prove hard to beat. ZEPHYSCHINO draws the outside gate but that isn’t the worst thing in the world at Carnarvon. At opening meeting the better going was down the centre. LOOKSNOTEVERYTHING has been impressive at both career starts. Big query is the early gate speed. LUCKY ESCAPE an improver at a price. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANGEL JUPITER WIN RACE 2 QUALITY FAIR did a stack of work on top of a hot tempo first-up and should be able to take up a prominent position in the run. Provided the old boy handles the surface at Carnarvon he should take a lot of beating. NEWMARRACARRA sat deep the trip last weekend and was far too strong form them. He is a 1000m specialist and the way Keshaw Dhurun is riding him at the moment really suits. CALABRIA JOE gest back in his races which is always a concern but is going well. MYTHICAL TRUST comes from a far weaker form race last weekend but won well and back in trip should suit. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – QUALITY FAIR WIN RACE 3 CARSON DRIVE took 18 starts to finally break his maiden but did it well and now returns to Carnarvon. With the gate speed he is currently showing expecting Simone Altieri to have an eye for the early lead and then sitting just off the speedy Too Cool or Enactment. From the first few in running he can give this a shake. ENACTMENT should in theory be a very good Carnarvon type. Comes across running and has been going well in Geraldton. STILL AWAKE finds a new home with Robert Smith. 1200m might be too short but blackbook her for the season. JUST FRIARS can definitely run a race here. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – CARSON DRIVE WIN RACE 4 MADRID CENTRO has been leading them up at solid tempos his last few. Was $5 into $3.2 when saluting two starts ago and running them into the ground at 1400m at Geraldton 4L faster than average and then was $4 into $2.90 when gobbled up late by Ziera. Should kick through to lead them with Michelle Hagley on board for an in-form Malpass yard. No reason he can’t go mighty close again. THREE GENERATION does have some speed and kept out of trouble is a definite improver. PAIR OF FIVEZ returns to the dirt and had a consistent year in Broome last season. BLITZ GLORY comes back in trip and is always a chance. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MADRID CENTRO WIN RACE 5 MYBAK is a brilliant opportunity for young 4kg apprentice Hannah Fitzgerald to notch up her first career victory. Seems to be something about Patemans & Fitzgeralds which works and this would be a fitting result. Ran super last week and was ridden a treat. BALRANTO won last start and no reason why she can’t continue on her merry way. COOL DYNAMITE concedes them a head start and last season at Carnarvon seemed to struggle on the dirt. RHINO’S LAD hasn’t fired a shot recently but keep safe at a price. K Numbers: 10 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MYBAK WIN RACE 6 ESPRESSO LASS looks hard to beat here. Keshaw Dhurun outrode his 4kg claim at Carnarvon at the opening meeting and looks like he will have a great season if he continues his association with Michelle Vallentine. This mare loved the Carnarvon circuit last season and no reason why she can’t open her account here. BIG BLOWS has his first start back on the dirt after a couple of preparations on the grass. Was dominant at Broome only 12 months ago. LUCKY CHARLIE won well at Geraldton last start. DIAMONDS FOR ALL will keep improving. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – ESPRESSO LASS WIN RACE 7 MAKFI AMOUR has his first start on the Carnarvon dirt but from gate 5 he should jump cleanly enough to find the front and roll them along. Last start Geraldton 56+ and is a Packenham synthetic winner. If he leads he should take some serious running down. ARGOON was charging last start. Clearly going to win a few races this preparation in the region. SWEET TALKIN is a little awkwardly drawn in gate 1 but form is improving quickly. JENABEL may well concede them a fair head start but on her day is a nice mare. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – MAKFI AMOUR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,6,7 4,5,7,8,10 2,3,7 1,4 Market Market
