Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on March 22, 2019March 22, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SHOWZALI hails form a strong stable, has Pike engaged and trialed up well for her return. Debut run was fair and was well thought of that day. Interesting 2 year old race with a lot of question marks. TOMMY BLUE has only had the one trial but it was impressive and the stable are in very good form. NOBEL IMPACT is not the worst at odds to include in novelties. Has race experience and wasn’t disgraced last weekend. PRETTY STYLE can run a race on debut without surprising. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SHOWZALI WIN Race 2 AVALON BAY was a good enough run on debut to suggest that he would take some beating at his second career start. Likely to be suited over further later in his career but can hold a position in running and go close. BLANKENBERGE is likely to attempt to hold the front from the gate and should improve. VALIDATION went well on debut in a blanket finish which could prove a reasonable form reference. KITGUM has trialed well for debut. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – AVALON BAY WIN Race 3 BLACK DUCATI trialed very well recently and the Chris Parnham – Michael Lane combination has an extremely impressive winning strike rate. On debut the 3 year old filly will take a stack of beating on the ability shown. LIBERTY MAGIC has been beaten fair and square so far this preparation but in far stronger races than this. Wouldn’t surprise to see her run a race. FOXY DREAMER leads or box seats and gets every possible. WILD GUST deserves to win one, but she does know how to get rolled. Numbers: 13 – 5 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – BLACK DUCATI WIN Race 4 TALENT SCHOOL looks to have finally found her race. She will roll forwards and Peter Hall in front on a stayer is always hard to run down. He will rate her well and likely let her roll from the 800m in an attempt to take the sprint of the swoopers. TOO CLOSE THE SUN gets out to a winnable trip and the 3 year old 1500m form race looks the strongest form in the race. SCINTILLATING has always looked a stayer in the making and can run well again. HAPPY SANDAY draws soft and has been consistent since joining JT Warwick. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – TALENT SCHOOL WIN Race 5 PAGAN IMAGE has 3 year old form which is far superior to rivals in this field. While no doubt looking for further later in the preparation first-up at 1400m looks ideal and this is a very nice placement of the horse by an astute stable. FLOWER OF SCOTLAND is always a winning chance in race like this. Was the target of strong support in a Saturday Graduation last start when not seeing much daylight. FRIARANDICE has been very good this campaign. SUPERIOR SMILE is ready to win again. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – PAGAN IMAGE WIN Race 6 LEADING MAN was a seriously good win first-up. He missed the kick and Peter Hall kicked him up to hold a spot. Was 3 deep a long way from home and made a strong sustained run. Can go on with it. HEAVENLY AFFAIR is a bit of a query stepping out to 1400m but hard to not be impressed with the last start effort three deep the trip. ARMED AND READY was a huge improver at his second WA start and Pateman/Bairstow going at over 50% last three months. TAGADA next best. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – LEADING MAN WIN Race 7 STAR EXHBIT may have 62kg but he is a weighted moral in this field. He is a m105 in an 89+ and gets in at least 1.5kg better at the handicap than any other rival and should give them a staying lesson. PRYING TOM was enormous in the Bunbury Cup sitting deep throughout. Dropping to the minimum he is the logical danger. COME PLAY WITH ME was a touch disappointing but can bounce back. RED ARMY with no weight can play a part in the finish. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – STAR EXHIBIT WIN Race 8 STRONG HEART was scratched from the Listed 3 year old JC Roberts Stakes and drops back in trip from an impressive last start win over the staying trip coming up the fence on a day when it was poison. He sits in the box seat and looks hard to roll. PATCHIRAC could be the blow out after putting together a couple of nice runs earlier in the campaign. SAN CRISPINO also drops back in trip but has been consistently good all prep. WORLD IS YOURS was the beneficiary of a ‘Little Brother’ special last start. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – STRONG HEART WIN Race 9 FRIAR’S FANCY was unsuccessful in a protest last start when narrowly beaten by a well whipped Cristal Dane. She is a filly with an abundance of ability and promise so expecting the form to prove strong and her to get a win here. WARZACHANTZ gets a chance to roll straight to the top and control the speed. Was in the market in a Graduation race fresh. THUNDERPLUMP lumps a big weight again and draws poorly but is in form. HORIZON won well on debut. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S FANCY WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,6 1,7 2,8 1,2,5,8 Market Market
