Scott Embry’s Sunday Broome Preview Posted on June 23, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HERE NO CASH ran a ripper at his dirt debut when drawn barrier 11 of 11. He sat parked three and four deep throughout and ran past many of his rivals in this event when finishing second to Lo Lo Lonhro. Always a risk being drawn barrier 1 that you get crossed and cop a face full of dirt but if he steps cleanly he should muster into a prominent position. NITRO LAD chased hard behind Wuhan Warrior at Broome in a C2 and then to a C1 at Port Hedland last Saturday when going close. Racing well. SMART VISION continues to savage the line but it’s hard to get too excited about a 35 start maiden. MY LIBERTY was solid first start in Broome. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – HERE NO CASH WIN RACE 2 PIT TO WIN resumed at the opening meeting 22 days ago with a big win over City Regal. They absolutely smashed the clock (5L faster than average) and he was pulling away on the line. He won at Broome first-up and second-up last season and his second-up win was a 70+ 1300. Follows a similar path here and looks hard to beat again. MORDOR didn’t jump at his first start for Sean & Jake Casey. Different horse if he worked his way to the top. SILKINIZE was a different animal last start when working forwards to the breeze. 1300m stretches but if he reproduces he commands respect. POWERFUL has 62kg to lump again. Did win the Pearl Classic with 63.5kg so he’s capable. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – PIT TO WIN WIN RACE 3 CITY REGAL comes through the Pit To Win race which was a 70+ run 5L faster than average. You would think that dropping back into a 58+ he would be very popular in betting, however, there is a lot of speed in this race and he’ll have to lump 61kg. Concerned that he may not find the front but still hard to tip past him with the drop in grade and speed figures from his first-up run. Did go around $1.85 in a 70+ first-up. PRINCE SAIYAN got right out to the centre last start and was far too strong. He’s flying. SO SWAY and SIOUX CITY both have their first starts on the dirt. Both have really good gate speed to use up. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – CITY REGAL WIN RACE 4 STUMBLE was eyecatching at his return to Broome when chasing very hard behind Danehill Storm. He now has a senior rider on second-up and should be able to keep the leaders within his sights from barrier 6. Not easy to run them down at Broome (so far near impossible) but hopefully as the season progresses they can start to make an impact from just off them. MARZIPAN LAD was wide throughout chasing around a red hot Rogue’s Point at his return to Broome. Shades back on and no Rogue’s Point. Both help. BUSTER’S FORCE meets both Stumble and Danehill Storm considerably better at the weights from their first-up encounter. He’ll come on quickly. BART’S BULLET was too bad to be true last start. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – STUMBLE WIN RACE 5 SINGLETON PARK has raced exclusively in higher grade since arriving in WA and second-up at Broome looks to have found a great race to break through. First-up in a 58+ he kept coming into fourth behind Danehill Storm and Stumble, finishing ahead of Buster’s Force, Yankee Lima and Chad’s Me Dad. We’ll see all that form in Race 4 and hopefully it holds up! Drops back into a C2, gets out to a mile and strikes a thin race. Last 90 days Rosie Mahony going at 13.6% SR and 33.4% POT – flying. FINAL PLAN was able to lead and dictate at his first start in Broome and looks to get similar conditions here. Hard to get past. RAPIDERN went well over 1100m and gets out in trip. FREQUENT FRIAR still may need further. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – SINGLETON PARK WIN RACE 6 ROGUE’S POINT should lead them a merry dance again. He won at the opening meeting by 4.8L and copped a 5 point whack from the handicapper. Won second-up by 1.1L and copped another 4 points. The way he’s going he’ll kick through to lead from barrier 1, travels brilliantly through the dirt and then starts to sneak away from the 600. See no reason why he won’t be winning again. You’d think he’s probably odds on. SUNSPHERE and KORANIS chased hard behind him last start and both get weight swings. NEVARDA can never be discounted getting out to a mile. Loves Broome. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – ROGUE’S POINT WIN RACE 7 WUHAN WARRIOR is another last start winner who toyed with them. He won by 5L in a high speed display. The overall race time was 2L faster than C2 average and he is again drawn to kick through, lead and kick. This race has a fair bit more early speed that he will have to kick through underneath (Ain’t I A Woman, Rosa Ballerina, Chilli Bean) but if he can hold the top he’s the one to beat. DEMERITS PRIDE may sit parked out deep but he will continue to whack away. CONTESSA MEDICI has no weight on her back and can stay out deep and out of trouble. AIN’T I A WOMAN may be suspect at the end of 1200. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – WUHAN WARRIOR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) FD 2,4 5 1,2,8 Market Market
