Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on January 8, 2021January 8, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CATCHYA CATCHYA looks more than capable of getting Roy Rogers off to a flyer on what looks a massive day for the Rogers vs Wolfe dual. First-up ran a distant second to stablemate Magnusson Man over 1230 at Albany and then head up the highway to a Pinjarra maiden when charging to the line behind Prize Pursuit. Get a good indication of the strength of that form through Oceanzara on Saturday at Ascot and up to 1500m she looks very hard to beat. LUNAR IMPACT ran alright first-up in what looks an extremely strong form reference race for an Albany maiden. ILZAAM went very close at Esperance at her Helen Harding debut. COUNT THE SESSIONS trialled nicely in the middle of the prep. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – CATCHYA CATCHYA WIN RACE 2 OUR PANDEMONIUM gets one last chance. Patience is wearing thin but he continues to run good races without winning. No excuse from the ideal gate and he should be given every chance by Nicoll with the blinkers on. GODGIVEMESTRENGTH was well commissioned on debut and the recent trial was strong. Jess Gray takes weight off and should get the right run. EFREET didn’t have blinkers in a recent trial. The ones at Belmont last campaign were encouraging. KAZKAZI has had a lot of opportunities but Roy Rogers can improve them sharply. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – OUR PANDEMONIUM WIN RACE 3 GO CRYING loves races in Albany and with his rating doesn’t get many opportunities to find suitable races in the region. This is another perfect chance to notch his fourth win at only his ninth ARC outing. Held a position in running last start and that was the difference. If he gets a run from three back the paint he’ll be hard to hold out. BENTLEY’S BROTHER has form around stablemate Recapitulate which is very much good enough to be winning this. LOSING TICKET is hard to fault anywhere between 1800 and 1900m. WAR KSAR gets some weight relief. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – GO CRYING WIN RACE 4 SOWAR is brilliantly placed by Steve Wolfe. Resumed with 60kg in a 58+ when going under by a narrow margin behind stablemates War Class and Apollo. Drops back into C2 company and after the claim for in form stable apprentice Snaggers Sardelic gets in with 61kg. He is 60+ Graduation placed behind Puckapunyal and Truly Great. Should be winning. BIG BADA BOOM comes out of a maiden where he absolutely destroyed moderate opposition. Interesting to see how he measures up ART ADMIRER comes from a handy form race at Esperance and brings alternate form. FUEL THE FRIAR wasn’t too bad first-up and should only improve. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SOWAR WIN RACE 5 FANGIO looks more than capable of winning another C2 and then a 58+ and a 64+. Very lightly raced, very progressive and is also starting to show some versatility to her racing. Should arguably have won two on the trot and with the addition of W.Pike will be the best bet for a lot of locals. DEANGLES can’t do much more than he currently is. Returning a near identical ratings figure every outing and that puts him right in the finish. AMBER HIGHWAY is never far from the winner. SWIFT GONDO an improver up in trip. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – FANGIO WIN RACE 6 RECAPIULATE was a last start 70+ winner by over 3L. Now drops back in grade into a 64+ and should prove very hard to beat. Excellent placement by Helen Harding and Recapitulate is in career best form. The way he is going he looks like he could measure up in town. Looks the one on paper. SCORELINE loves the mile and kept fresh is capable of giving some cheek out in front. ZETORIO draws a soft gate, does no work and has a big finish. KENDEL’S MEE DAD went round an odds on favourite last start and without Chris Nicoll didn’t fire a solitary shot. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – RECAPITULATE WIN RACE 7 NOT MY FIGHT won’t get a better opportunity to start her Roy Rogers days a winner. Very evenly graded C2 and from the draw Pike can have her stalking the tempo. 1230 might be on the longer side for her but if she can get the trip she’ll be right there at the finish. MAGNUSSON MAN backed up off 48 hours at Pinjarra and ran out of his skin. SHESAPOCKET ROCKET was double nominated for Narrogin and Albany. Genius move by Earl O’Loughlin. GOD HAS CHOSEN was super impressive on debut but drawn in the carpark. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – NOT MY FIGHT WIN RACE 8 DIABLERIE and RESORTMAN look the two on paper to fight out the finish of the Fitzpatrick Sprint. DIABLERIE is likely to open the more attractive price of the pair so that’s the way we’ll tip. Destroyed 70+ opposition at Albany, won a 0MWLY at Bunbury and then stamped himself as being back with a minor placing behind Platinum Bullet and Resortman before running a luckless fourth behind Son of a God, Ziebell and Why Choose Her. Pike gets the most out of him and he’ll get every chance from the draw. RESORTMAN drops back to 1200m and looks best suited to stalking high pressure 1200m races. Should get those exact conditions here. SOLID AZZA will concede them a big start. PEPPIJACK has hit career best form. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – DIABLERIE WIN RACE 9 GRAND DESIGN is a versatile mare. Has won races leading, has won races when sitting back. Kyra Yuill picks up the ride and can steer her track and condition appropriate from the wide gate. Some of her runs in her short career have been brilliant and if she brings her A-Game should be going close. ATHLONE CASTLE is the horse that Kyra Yuill abandons to jump onto Grand Design. Drops back in grade and did go round an odds on 70+ favourite last start. MORGS FREEMAN comes back to the Great Southern and has shades added. LONG KNIFE BROTHER was very impressive last start. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – GRAND DESIGN WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,5,6 2,6,9 4,5 3,4,5,10,11 Market Market
