Scott Embry’s Saturday Mount Magnet Preview Posted on September 16, 2022September 16, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 JUPITERS SUN is looking to break a long run of outs but seems to have found his race. Third to Cape Sounion and Junction Cup winner O’Reilly’s Crumpet in a 56+ at Carnarvon four starts ago, fourth to Passport and The Divine Wind two starts ago and then lead and finished fifth most recently. 56+ into a 51+ with Peta Edwards on. Leads and should prove hard to run down. FANDAZZLE was a fresh winner at Geraldton last start on Dongara Cup Day. Looks the danger. TRISUEM didn’t quite handle the Broome style of racing. REVEREND JOHN looking to turn back the clock. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – JUPITERS SUN WIN RACE 2 MISS BRIGHTON went close to pinching a C1 at Carnarvon before she headed to Roebourne where she never really got going and never really looked comfortable. Jess Gray a big bonus and this is winnable for her. NOBLE SPIRIT is first-up at 1400m but takes on a very moderate line-up. Looks the testing material. HAYSTACKS hasn’t overly enjoyed Carnarvon racing. Capable enough to bounce back. PRETTY ADMIRABLE is honest and could even roll to the top here for Martinan. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – MISS BRIGHTON WIN RACE 3 TOP POCKET has been a frustrating NW maiden to follow over the seasons. Placed at four of his last five and always promised to pinch one. 1200m is short of his ideal distance but these maidens get weaker by the month with natural attrition of eligibility and this is as good a chance as any. THE GOD SONG brings alternate grass form. Coming back from a mile but the previous runs all beaten under 5L were solid enough. Logical danger. KING OF THE JIVE ran well 36 days ago at Roebourne. Can jump and run. BOBALONG BOB next best. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TOP POCKET WIN RACE 4 FLYING ARABAIN wasn’t that well suited at Roebourne. Thinking that in a jump and run 1200 at Mt Magnet on the fresh side he might take some catching. Best allowed to roll and Jess Gray rides those horses well. HERITAGE SASH has 64kg to lump but did exactly that 7 days ago at Carnarvon when finishing third behind Moorumbine and Klondike Kenny in a 56+. This race has plenty of speed and carrying that weight at the end of 1200 might be telling. WHAT ABOUT MOSES is new to dirt racing but classy enough. KING OF PLANETS finds another new home. Racing below his best of 12/18 months ago. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLYING ARABIAN WIN RACE 5 COPPING POINTS should be able to sneak up in behind the speed set by Old Times and Modern Times. From there he gives popular returning hoop Maki Morita a big sighter into a winner. Think 1400 stretches him and back to 1000 is a positive. OLD TIMES can be hard to run down when able to find the front. Should kick through and lead them. MODERN TIMES was always there abouts in Roebourne and attacks this fresh. SCOTOPIA has been racing consistently in Carnarvon. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – COPPING POINTS WIN RACE 6 CALLING CARD looks hard to beat in the 2022 Mt Magnet Cup. Won a 56+ mile at Roebourne two starts ago before finishing third behind Weld and Glenaureen at Newman. Don’t think there’s much between Calling Card and Glenaureen but Kristy Bennett should be able to stay out of trouble and out of traffic whereas Glenaureen is likely to get a long way out of his ground. GLENAUREEN beat him home at Newman and only concedes him half a kilo. Danger. UNBREAKABLE could be the forgotten horse. Jess Gray on, can lead and could improve sharply. MAJORA’S MASK will need to improve. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – CALLING CARD WIN Same Race Multi – Calling Card (Top 3) + Glenaureen (Top 3) Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,6 1,2,4,5 2,3,4 2,3,8 Market Market
