Scott Embry’s Saturday Kununurra Preview Posted on August 26, 2022August 26, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CASINO WAR didn’t seem to handle the unique style of Kununurra racing last Saturday. She’s clearly the best horse in the race and she’s more than capable of bouncing back, however, does need to take big benefit from the experience. CHILLI BEAN has promised to jump and run and win a race throughout the season. Straight to the top here. LETHAL ENCOUNTER was huge last week behind More Snitzel. Think this race has more depth. SIGNOR FANGIO is the fourth horse and a fourth live chance. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – CASINO WAR WIN RACE 2 ORNAMENTAL BELLE was really strong last week and gives the Simone Altieri and Anthony Barton combination a great chance at an early race to race double to open the program. Think she lands in an identical position 7 days after her strong win and this race is not a whole lot deeper. HATTAN MAN wasn’t too far away and there’s no reason why he can’t go one better on the weekend. WRITE YOUR MAN looked a weighted special last weekend. The huge query here is coming back in trip. ARROGANT MISS an improver. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ORNAMENTAL BELLE WIN RACE 3 NEW ROMAN looks to have found a really nice race. Finished third behind Ornamental Belle and Hattan Man in the Ladies Day Bracelet last weekend in a 56+. Drops back into a ClassB Trophy race (48+) and draws the inside gate. Think this is really winnable for him and should prove hard to beat. RAFFALLI won well at Broome when beating Grated Coconut who proved that form in this grade last week. THE FINEST wasn’t really comfortable at Broome. This is a different style of racing completely. MORE SNITZEL ran well last week but this is far deeper. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – NEW ROMAN WIN RACE 4 HALGARD finished second behind Don’t Wait as a $5.50 chance last weekend in a 62+ 1200 at Kununurra. 7 days later he finds himself in a 56+ 13500 All three career wins are between 1300 & 1500 and his last win was in a 0 – 76 at Darwin. This is a thin race and he should prove too strong. WAR GAMES finished second to Write Your Name after winning a C2 at Darwin. Looks the danger on the minimum. POCKET PISTOL should position up well. DEE KEEPA is clearly racing below her best. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – HALGARD WIN RACE 5 BUSTERS FORCE wasn’t at the opening meeting last week but David Harrison makes the trek across for the second meeting of the quick season. Was going super at Broome at the end of their season and was a maiden winner on the grass when breaking his maiden at Northam beating home Fine Romance. See no reason why he won’t be hard to beat in this. FEED THE MONSTER had a few things go wrong last week. Should improve. COIN COLLECTOR is the class runner but is first-up at a mile. KARAOKE EXPRESS got caught up in a sit and sprint that didn’t suit last week. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BUSTERS FORCE WIN RACE 6 DASHING IMAGE looks the horse to beat in the Argyle Engineering Kununurra Cup. The biggest query is him seeing out a strong 1800m but he was a 1618m winner of a 58+ at Geraldton and he has seen out the mile at Broome behind Native Chimes after sitting up over the top of the speed. Gets a nice run and Jess Gray should have him ready to launch on straightening. KENNEDY has been a nice surprise packet late in the Broome season once he stepped out over further. Comes out of the Kimberley and Broome Cups and back in trip suits. BOOM BOOM SWEET looks well placed and the inside gate helps. LUNCH SESSION ran well behind Magione last week. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – DASHING IMAGE WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3 1,6 2 1,2,3 Market Market
