Scott Embry’s Saturday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on April 24, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ABOARD should be going extremely close. Has had basically no luck all her career. She now joins Rod Brown and gets Kyra Yuill into the saddle who could win on a broomstick at the minute. She should have her just behind the speed and this is not a strong race. MISTER KRUMPETS is very one paced. Expecting Natasha Faithfull to let him roll. OILSKIN will win one eventually. COCKY ED in a similar boat. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – ABOARD WIN RACE 2 MANHATTAN MONEY could be another early start to a big day in the saddle for Kyra Yuill. Has metro and provincial maiden form when in the care of Dan & Ben Pearce, now joins Peter Fernie and faces the weakest opposition of her career. KISSEDBYFRIAR is another new comer to the region. New stable, blinkers going back on, and has shown ability. FIRST STRIKE promised to win one last season, can run a race. HENTY LASS next best in a thin race. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – MANHATTAN MONEY WIN RACE 3 EXCARO was not missed in the market last start and won well. Her form leading in was strong and there are a lot of the same horses going round and round in 70+ races in Kalgoorlie. She should enjoy a beautiful run from the inside and not surprised to see Kyra ride the first three. BADGE OF COURAGE was as super run first-up. Gets 2kg off Excaro and can fly late. WAR JEUNE drops 7.5kg and was not disgraced last start. Keep him safe. PARADISE SQUARE starting to feel the weight so Kate Southam goes on. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – EXCARO WIN RACE 4 NEMIROFF is a jump and run commodity, plain and simple. He can get pulling in his races and expect that Victoria Corver will allow him to stride a fair way from home. If she is able to cross to the fence then they’ll struggle to run him down. If he gets planted in the breeze then he is beatable. GLIMMER GIRL was super fresh and now Kyra goes on. She is the W.Pike of the provincial area. Keep it in mind. DOUBLE THE PRO loses Chris Nicoll and concedes another kilo to Glimmer Girl. HAYAN LAD from the draw next gets it soft. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – NEMIROFF WIN RACE 5 TAJMALI gets a 4kg claim and is fool proof and fairly easy to ride. They set a strong tempo in that last start race and she kept fighting in the finish. Stays in the same grade and drops 3.5kg. Very well weighted and awfully hard to get past late. ORACHINO goes up in the weights because the senior goes on. But it is the $1.01 Jocks Challenge hoop aboard. DIRTY DOT was as a shade disappointing last start but can bounce back. KINGS AUTHORITY needs luck but will win one (one day). Numbers: 6 – 8 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – TAJMALI WIN RACE 6 THISORTHAT is absolutely flying at the minute. Second to Indian Chant first-up when only beaten just over 2L and then last start finished second to the in form Magniforce. Arguably the two biggest X-Factor horses in Kal (Magniforce and Indian Chant) and he has run into both. Huge opportunity for returning river Damian Miller to notch his first win. KNIGHT TEMPEST has a serious turn of foot. Can’t be discounted. DALGARANGA caught the eye last start. WEMBLEY DAYZ is building. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – THISORTHAT WIN RACE 7 MAGNIFORCE has super levels of ability but isn’t an easy horse to ride. Kate Southam will be looking to launch and find the fence. That is where he does his best but there is speed underneath him. WATTOS FURY also drawn awkward but won well last start and does love Kalgoorlie. NORD AVENIR is ready to win but finds another tough draw. RECAPITULATE always capable in this grade. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAGNIFORCE WIN Quaddie (R4 – R7) 1,4,5 6,8 1,5 2,4 Market Market
