Scott Embry’s Saturday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 2, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ANOTHER DEMON was backed like a good thing when rattling home but ultimately unable to reel in Bells Tower last time out. He recorded the fastest last 600m sectional on the card and given todays rail position and weight swings he looks poised to turn the tables. THE CRUEL SEA is better suited at the 1400m and does no work from the gate. BELLS TOWER is in great form and certainly capable of adding to his picket fence. PEGATEGO is the class runner and shouldn’t be discounted after the claim of Brandon Louis. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – ANOTHER DEMON WIN Race 2 MOONLIGHTS REWARD impressed at his WA debut and can go one better today. Apprentice Kate Southam will look to spear across to take up the running and from there is mighty hard to get past. KING OF PLANETS has drawn to get the run of the race at his first start for the Cambana Lodge stable. SIMPLE AS THAT was no match for what looks to be an exciting mare but continues to run well without winning. FIRST STRIKE is a watch at her Goldfields debut. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MOONLIGHTS REWARD WIN Race 3 BANGCRASH finds his best chance of winning a race. Drawn to enjoy the run of the race and when Ashley Maley travels his horses they are always worth respecting. DANCE WEST continues to tease punters and was given every possible chance by the apprentice at her most recent. ATTICUS is Luke Fernie’s first runner as a trainer and he will no doubt have him wound up for the occasion. Can improve sharply. FOXY DREAMER has drawn the outside and may be suited having the last crack at them. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – BANGCRASH WIN Race 4 FEARLESS GENERAL and SMARTY both look progressive horses for the Fernie stable. Smarty looks the most talented but still does things wrong which is worth noting when backing them at a short price. Siding with Fearless General for that reason who was impressive when breaking his maiden status and was a massive forgive run at his most recent. OUR BONNIE GIRL is a new acquisition to veteran trainer John Eaton’s yard and she looks talented enough to win a race of this nature. GAME ON DUDE has been freshened after an encouraging start to his career with Gary Bowen. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – FEARLESS GENERAL WIN Race 5 GLUTEN FREE is yet another progressive type for Peter Fernie and his chances are today enhanced by the booking of Matthieu Autier. Leads them and goes for home on the corner. BARTRADER drops back to his right class and looks the one to beat in an even affair. He is your bread and butter horse who can sit almost anywhere in the run and todays draw allows him to do just that. WHISPERING JACK was a barnstorming maiden winner and the nature of that win suggests he has plenty more in store NOBEL SUSPECT bounced back after a disappointing performance and you can expect him to be thereabouts again. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – GLUTEN FREE WIN Race 6 GALVESTON BAY was dealt a blow at the barrier draw but he is going good enough to overcome it and win. If Matthieu Autier can track up 3 deep with cover he can get to the outside and run right over the top of them in the concluding stages. MOSCHARD strung together 3 successive wins before a break and is finally putting it all together. If he gets breathing room late he can be very hard to beat. HILLBERT was an alarming betting drifter 1st up and still performed admirably. TRUTH AND LIES is another talented type returning from a break and can win on form. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – GALVESTON BAY WIN Race 7 GLIMMER GIRL was a horror watch for backers on her Goldfields debut. Nothing went right and it is fair to say if she was afforded any luck whatsoever she wins. Senior rider goes on board today so look for her flashing late. RARE SELECTION deserves another chance. Was keen on this fellow last start when failing to play a part, he can improve sharply ridden on top of the speed today. MONASH has put in 2 ultra impressive performances since joining Shannon Roughan and was a deserved winner at his most recent. Can go on with it. POINT was a nice run at his first go for David Smith. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – GLIMMER GIRL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4 1,5 1,2,3,6 2,3,5,10 Market Market
