It was her first start in Kalgoorlie and only her third lifetime start. Tash Faithfull sticks and she can go one better here. MR KOHANA is now a long time maiden. You’d think with natural attrition of maidens in the region until the likes of Adam Durrant and Neville Parnham start sending teams that this is his chance to pinch one. ELUSIVE PRO was a fair way behind Well Played last week. Improves as the distances increase. RED WITH TED was a handy enough return. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WELL PLAYED WIN RACE 2 PRINCESS CHUNK won a 400m jump out at Belmont Park and a 1000m trial leading into her debut. She finished 4L off them at Mt Barker and then made her way to Peter Fernie. Hasn’t been seen for 83 days and clearly has a bit to learn about racing but this is an open and winnable maiden for many of them. FLYING THE FLAG is racing well as a 2 year old against the older horses. Chased hard behind Just Got Paid last Friday. EXCEED EXPRESS went around a $5 chance on debut for Michael Lane at Northam. Only had the one start before being shipped off to Ash Grace in Kal. Trial in blinkers behind Boondi Rocks was alright. NOTHERN SUNRISE was a nice WA debut. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS CHUNK WIN RACE 3 MEN’S CLUB won a 64+ 1200m last Friday in a time that was 2.5L faster than average. Going off his career record you would suggest that coming back to 1100m is only more in his favour and he actually drops half a kilo coming up into a 70+. Should find the front and should take serious running down. MAGNIFORCE is enigmatic but when he’s on song he’s really talented. At this stage of his life 1100m is probably on the short side but he looks the danger. YOYOS will keep improving into the campaign. SEMIGEL can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – MEN’S CLUB WIN RACE 4 CELEBRITY WITNESS looks ready to win. Her first run at Kalgoorlie from a mile off them was good behind wise Words and subsequent winner Men’s Club and then last Friday she got a long way out of her ground at 1300m in a race which was dominated on speed (Anna’s Boy gunned down the leader Town Hall in the final stride). Senior rider on, much better drawn and an extra 100m. Like her in this. NICKLAUS and COUNTER DRIVE have both had long seasons down in Esperance and now hit Kalgoorlie rock hard fit. Both are consistent. MY SQUEEZE LOUISE can continue to make her way through the grades this year. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY WITNESS WIN RACE 5 NO MORE DUST won a Class B Trophy Race at Esperance three starts ago (which is why she’s eligible to be in a C2 as a 3x winner) and then backed it up with a huge win in a C2 at Esperance over 1200m beating Dawn Amnesty and Boozeroo. First start at Kalgoorlie was 33 days between runs and finished 4th behind Dunbar in a 58+. Drops back in grade and is racing particularly well. FILTHY HABITS may have gone too slow for his own good last Friday. First 800m was 12.5L slower than average and then he didn’t have the sprint to shake them off on straightening. Looks more of a rolling type. MAIDMY WAY has put in two good runs since resuming. ALL IN A DAY can sprint well over this trip. Keep safe. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – NO MORE DUST WIN RACE 6 BOOZEROO had to dig deep to win last week. Loomed up powerfully on straightening but Abloh who had made that big sweeping run around them had a lot of momentum and he had to be fought off in the late stages. No surprise to see him go back to back. Clearly improved for Fredo. KELLYS LI ZA LU is quick and she had the handbrake on in her trial behind Boondi Rocks before last Friday’s meeting. Big watch at her Kal debut. JUST GOT PAID won his maiden like a horse who could go through the C1/C2 grades. ROMERO should be improving quickly. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BOOZEROO WIN RACE 7 WISE WORDS lead and won a 58+ at the opening meeting by over 2L beating subsequent 64+ winner Men’s Club. At her second run in the region she was taken on from a long way out and then had nothing to offer in the home straight. Considering the pressure she copped at stages willing to forgive and forget. PLAYTHATFUNKYMUSIC didn’t exactly shake them off like the price tag suggested at his first start at Kalgoorlie. But he’s a nice horse for this grade. NODUSTONEME is a 9 year old who is having his 12th run of the preparation. Going incredibly well. ROSEBUSH is about to part ways with her best mate Kye Raymond. Fingers crossed the great lady can put her best on the track for him. Up the Bush. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – WISE WORDS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4 2,4 1,3,5,7 1,2,3 Market Market
