Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 11, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BORN TO RULE made her debut off the back of a pair of 400m jump outs. Was able to lead and absorb pressure from classy filly Chantorque before being gunned down by the undefeated Vancouver youngster Dunbar. That was on a soft7 so proven in the ground and sits in the first two. At an eachway quote is a safe investment. BILLY AINT SILLY got tongues wagging at trials on Monday and comes straight to the races. Jerry Noske is sure to look to kick through and lead and he looks to have a big motor. NUHAD couldn’t have done any more on debut when waltzing to a soft victory. Gate makes things tricky here. BUMPER HUMPER won the initial plate well and resumes off the back of an impressive 400m trial. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – BORN TO RULE EACHWAY RACE 2 NERODIO was dynamite first-up when sitting leaders back and then exploding up the inside when the gaps appeared. He is undefeated after 4 starts at Belmont and while this is his toughest test to date he should have the fire power late to get himself out of traffic. His trial win on the 26th of May was huge on a rain affected track further enhancing his prospects. CAPTAIN KINK ran second to Resortman in a 3 year old handicap only two starts ago. Pay to forgive his most recent when he uncharacteristically missed away. BRUCE ALMIGHTY backs up off 7 days, drops in grade and comes out of a super ratings race. TAJAMLI has been faultless all preparation and with the speed gets a chance to sit on them. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – NERODIO WIN RACE 3 MISS FROST gets back in her races which is always heart in mouth stuff for punters but her turn of foot is electric. Had to work extremely hard last start when making a sustained run at 1200m and just missing behind Tawny Pete. This is an easier class of race and punters will back Pike to get her into the open. FALSE STATEMENT is a horse going places and from what we have seen of his racing pattern drawn gate 12 of 12 is no worry for him. Seems to relish being allowed room and 3 deep the trip at the Belmont 1000 is always a winnable position. SHE’S ENCHANTED will give serious cheek in front if she can kick through to lead. Ran into highly talented filly Bright Diamond on debut and then belted moderate opposition in midweek grade. DOWNFORCE backs up off 7 days after catching the eye fresh. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – MISS FROST WIN RACE 4 INDIAN PACIFIC led all the way to win first-up at 1200m on a soft7. Steps out to 1300m here and again should find the front under Brad Parnham. Was rated to absolute perfection fresh when pinching the first 600m 8L slower than average. May absorb a bit more pressure here but he is a talented horse. RESORTMAN was no match for Showmanship last weekend but never got a breather at any stage. Overall race time 5L faster than 66+ average and he was responsible for that tempo. Faultless before that and if he handles the back-up is a massive danger. LEVITATE and ABERDEEN QUEEN fought it out last start in a high quality midweek race. Obvious top 4. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – INDIAN PACIFIC WIN RACE 5 KELVIN will have to burn early but possesses the necessary gate speed to zip across and find the fence here. Races well 4 weeks between runs, relishes the wet going and Jade McNaught gets a wonderful opportunity to outride her claim here. All eyes will be on Windstorm and understandably so but Kelvin is very well placed to run a cheeky race. WINDSTORM lost no admirers first-up. Once Indian Pacific ran the first 600L 8L slower than average he was in a near impossible position. Chased very hard and recorded the sections of a proper horse. Could end up in a horror position again here but undeniably talented. DOUBLE BUBBLE swims and should land a nice spot in the first 4. FIRE MAKER is going well and draws soft. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – KELVIN EACHWAY RACE 6 DIVINE SHADOW is drawn in the carpark but there isn’t a great deal of speed in this race outside obvious leader That’s Funny Az. If Pateman can get him across without doing too much work then he looks a great chance. Three deep the trip at his first staying attempt two starts ago and then loomed the winner before mis-striding at the infamous 150m mark. Senior rider on looks hard to beat. BRITISH BESSY has been catching the eye in all her races this preparation and draws her best gate to date. Big improver here doing no work in the run. PICTURE PERFECT was backed from $4.40 into $2.40 last start when duly saluting. Building an impressive record and improving with each outing. THAT’S FUNNY AZ has no weight and stays out of trouble in front. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 4 – 13 Suggested Bet – DIVINE SHADOW EACHWAY RACE 7 INFLATION did a mountain of work first-up on top of a hot speed in the Northam Sprint when sitting three deep outside the leader with 59.5kg. With a clean get away should land one out and one back from the gate and should run a big race from there at a price. SERENITY BAY is a lightly raced mare resuming off the back of a super trial effort. Was an impressive first-up winner last preparation against the pattern before running into both Media Baron and Flower of War when they were charging through the grades. PROCONSENT continues to be underestimated and underrated in the market place. Knows how to win and carries weight. NEXT STOP THE MOON is a talented front runner who loves the wet. Numbers: 9 – 13 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – INFLATION EACHWAY RACE 8 THE VELVET KING did everything but win last start. Was $4.40 into $2.40 and the Overs Gods frowned upon WA punters as he missed the kick and had to burn in the first 200 to work through the field and find the breeze. Was in front everywhere but the post in the Belmont Sprint and steps to the mile in near identical wet track conditions. Buttering up and going again. MISSISSIPPI DELTA put the writing on the wall with her final furlong. Doesn’t seem to relish the conditions but class takes her a long way. ABDICATOR again jumps and leads. Much like the stablemate he loves it wet and controls the tempo. Should nearly run top 3 and will be $5/6 the place. ANGELIC RULER looked like she was about to go straight past them before mis-striding. Will need something to take her into the race. Numbers: 7 – 11 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet – THE VELVET KING WIN RACE 9 MANKIND backs up off 7 days, drops down to a postage stamp 52.5kg and draws to box seat behind a genuine tempo. With the likes of Super Maxi, Wrinkly and Baraki Beats they’ll be marching and he should track up in behind them. Looks ready to run a big race fourth up. NOT TO BE MIST is another top ride for William Pike. Probably most vulnerable first-up and has only seen a soft track at Lark Hill trials. Will spot the leaders a big distance turning for home but he will be flashing late. PROFIT STREET finds yet another new home. In the twilight of his career but first-up last preparation ran a fast finishing third in the G3 Colonel Reeves to Flirtini. WRINKLY is flying but 62.5kg on a Soft track is a big ask. Numbers: 13 – 12 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – MANKIND EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,4,5,9,10,12,13 9,13 7,9,11 4,12,13 Market Market
