Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on October 10, 2019October 14, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VALIDATION should fire straight to the top for Jade McNaught who seemingly elects to ride rather than retaining the mount on Zip Zap Zoom. Took a sit last start and was held up momentarily into the corner. Gets 4kg on Zip Zap Zoom and should be the first to see the Ascot rail. MEGACHINO is a bit of a barrier unknown, has shown a tendency to be slow away. Wins one very soon but trust levels are low. ZIP ZAP ZOOM was crunched in the market first-up from a long absence. Ran a big race but could be trapped three deep the trip here. RAPID TRANSIT trialed well. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – VALIDATION WIN Race 2 SUBLIME IMAGE will be all the rage and understandably so. She split Jarman and Sentimental Gift first-up who have both won races since, she steps to a more suitable 1600m event and should position up in W.Pikes favourite position, 3 back the fence. He is riding incredibly well and favourite backers will trust him to find a gap. PRIZED NEMESIS was held up at crucial stages last start. Interesting to see if Pateman kicks him out to lead or takes the box seat run. MISS FLAMBOYANCE has hit form and should settle a touch closer from the draw. WINIFER was an eye catcher fresh. She is a staying maiden worth following. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – SUBLIME IMAGE WIN Race 3 STRATHMORE ROSE has trialed nicely for her debut and will go around at a big price. Her Lark Hill 950m trial was almost as impressive as Neurologic, draws a better gate and will likely open quadruple the price. Can give a sight. STARFIELD IMPACT trialed professionally. NEUROLOGIC draws poorly but showed a quality motor at Lark Hill. TOO SPICY looks a jump and run type. Numbers: 10 – 9 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – STRATHMORE ROSE EACHWAY Race 4 BUNKER BUSTER has found another lovely race to make it four on the bounce. This will be a bit of a different race pattern for him coming off three victories in below benchmark speed races and now strikes one with Swift Platinum engaged who is likely to burn along. Nothing to suggest he won’t relish the injection of speed. AT THE READY back to Ascot, back with W.Pike on his back should be about ready to show something. SWIFT PLATINUM really burnt in the Boulder Cup. He can lead them for a long way again. MOSSERATTI sits three back the fence and gets it soft. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – BUNKER BUSTER WIN Race 5 CITICHANT is not a known 1200m horse and can be a touch awkward out of the gates but she is clearly in form and gives emerging apprentice Kristy Bennett a wonderful opportunity to ride a city winner. Should get a lovely tow into the race behind the speedy Ziebell and can give this a shake. NERODIO is flying through the grades and should enjoy an economical run throughout. Big chance of winning four on the bounce. EBONY MAGI is an emerging galloper with a powerful turn of foot. CREATIVE HERO is a listed winner who beat home Regal Power. He is well placed in this. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 12 – 1 Suggested Bet – CITICHANT EACHWAY Race 6 THE VELVET KING and ALPHA SKY should sit alongside each other in the race and control from the front. ALPHA SKY loves Ascot and should bounce straight to the top for Chloe Azzopardi. He went through the grades last preparation and can continue on this campaign. THE VELVET KING is an exciting animal and he looked far more tractable in his recent trial sporting a myriad of gear changes. From the breeze he is hard to hold out late. FORCEFUL will be tracking the speed midfield with cover and has a big turn of foot. TAXAGANO posted a career best figure at his most recent when saluting and box seats. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – ALPHA SKY EACHWAY Race 7 NELSON’S FLIGHT maps ideally and Paul Harvey could well be the perfect riding engagement. There is speed drawn everywhere with Harry Thomas, Velago and Beaucount all likely to grapple for the early lead. Nelson’s Flight is equally as sharp and Harvey can take a sit right over the speed. Well placed to win this. MISSILE LAUNCH looks destined on paper to tramp three deep the trip no cover but he drops sharply in grade. Last 66+ was in 2018 when winning. ASTRONOMITE should get in midfield and has raced well without cover all preparation. JEDAFFIAR will again be given every mortal hope from Pike. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – NELSON’S FLIGHT EACHWAY Race 8 CELEBRITY QUEEN will only get better into the campaign and will only improve over further but a high speed 1000m race drawn a plumb gate looks a recipe for success here. She settles somewhere midfield around one out and three back and has a brilliant turn of acceleration. DIG DEEP lumps 59kg and likely sits deep but he trialed like a proper horse at Lark Hill. JERICHO MISSILE should land a prominent position and was big in the Perth Stakes last prep. MISS WEST COAST is all class but does it tough from the draw. Numbers: 13 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY QUEEN WIN Race 9 PEPPIJACK put in an absolute ripper first-up no trial in a 70+ 1400m when running second to Cup Night and beating home classy types In Love With Paris, Nelson’s Flight and Spillinova. He maps to sit one out and one back and if he reproduces he can record his first Ascot and first Good track victory. LORENTINIO comes out running from the gate and should find the breeze. Hard to fault his form. SHARPBOB is not a known 1400m horse but wary of him getting a soft lead and kicking on the corner. LADY SASS will need to be good to win from last in a slowly run race at Ascot. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – PEPPIJACK EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,8 2,4,6,7,8,10 1,2,8,11,13 2,3,4,5,7,10,12 Market Market
