Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on April 11, 2019April 15, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PRETTY STYLE has been pretty stylish in both wins so far in her short career. Both wins have been strong sectionally and there is no reason why she won’t be winning again. SILKINIZE won well on debut but this is harder. ANNIHILATOR and HIGH RANGE both trialed well and both draw well for their debut. Can run into the minors. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – PRETTY STYLE WIN Race 2 PALACHINO has had an interrupted preparation and clearly does a lot wrong but has ability. Last start was slow away, sat three and four deep the trip pulling and still loomed early in the straight. If she jumps and can roll forwards she looks to have enough ability to give it a big shake. CRYPTO is a 3 year old colt who was big on debut and then backed from $2.10 into $1.40 when held up the entire at Geraldton. Comes to town and will be the target of early support. MEGAZONE maps nicely and has improved at every run. ALL THAT SIZZLE could cause a boil over with some luck early. Numbers: 12 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – PALACHINO EACHWAY Race 3 NEW AGE could open on the third or even the fourth line of betting and really deserves to be favourite on overall form. The jury is out whether she actually stays and so forgive her run over 2100m. Freshened, drops in grade, drops in trip, Pike back aboard and winner of 6 from 13. Forgive one run this preparation and she should be $2.50. YEAH BRAVO won his last race off three days and and does so again here. GEIGER GEM controlled and absolutely walked them last start to win. Gets it cheap again. SUPERIOR SMILE maps soft and should be in the finish. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – NEW AGE WIN Race 4 KINGSINGTON ABBEY will be ~40-1 but in a field of 8, with no natural leader and somewhere close to $6/7 the place he’s worth a small spec at odds. His first-up run was very good when held up throughout and second-up he could roll straight to the top and dictate terms. FRIARESQUE, LIKE A BUTTERFLY, TOUCH OF SILVER and ARCTIC STREAM are all within 1 or 2 lengths of each other and none are noted winners. Going to play wide in an even race. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – KENSINGTON ABBEY PLACE Race 5 CUP NIGHT has proven himself a potential future top liner so far this campaign. He has won sitting close handy, he has won from off the speed and his last start effort was huge consider the leaders were able to dictate. This is another tougher opposition but he can make it three from three then head to the paddock. FINAL HEARING drops out of the 3 year old staying features. He has been consistent all preparation. ALTANI is the X-Factor horse only coming from a weak Albany maiden. Pike electing to ride has punters interested. REBEL KNIGHT on the fresh side after being scratched two weeks ago can run a race. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – CUP NIGHT WIN Race 6 SUMMER’S SKYE has been going well all preparation for rookie trainer Summer Dickson. Yet to salute at Ascot and drawn wide but recent runs have been excellent and showed last start she can sustain a long run. Back in trip back in grade she looks hard to hold out. Eachway all day. BEAUCOUNT was able to salute for his loyal followers who have waited a fair while. Rated to perfection he actually ran the race considerably slower than average. Anyone who jumps on the bandwagon will have hearts in mouths as gates open. TWENTYTHREE RED is quickly building to another win. LAUFEY pay to forgive last time out. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SUMMER’S SKYE EACHWAY Race 7 SPECIAL REWARD could really stamp himself as an A-Grade sprinter if he is able to beat these tried and tested 76+ gallopers. Was well placed first-up and enjoyed the run on the race. His final 100m was outstanding considering the sections they ran. DIABLERIE was arguably as good, if not better in the same race and gets weight on him. They can both prove themselves up to this grade. SEEKER should box seat and get a soft run. MORE ACES needs to lead to win and should find the fence. Losing Jason Brown can’t be underestimated #Boooo. Numbers: 11 – 8 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL REWARD WIN Race 8 COCKNEY CREW on a 1×4 basis looks a very safe and profitable way to play the 2019 WATC Derby. He will lead, he will run the trip and at some stage Peter Hall will let him roll through his gears and he will look the winner. Places heavy he is a punt. REGAL POWER could go back and make this as one sided an affair as the inaugural RAC Derby on Saturday night. He maps to be a long way off them mid race but if he can reproduce his Melvista run he wins. AXEL ‘R’ EIGHT did a mountain of work in that race and draws soft here. WITHOUT REASON will keep grinding away. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – COCKNEY CREW PLACE Race 9 HOBOKEN was a big effort three starts back behind Fabergino in one of the strongest form races of recent times. He then bolted in off 7 days and looked to have turned a corner. Had his first start on a Soft track last start and spun the wheels. Forgive that and he is right in the mix here. DOUBLE BUBBLE was very poor last start. Previous win over Samizdat is worth remembering. SHOWCASE is a consistent and handy mare. She’ll storm late. M’LADY would have loved to have drawn inside Time to Trade but goes well. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet – HOBOKEN EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,4 8,11 1,3 4,7,8,10,11 Market Market
