Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on April 11, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HAPPY SANDAY gets his last chance. If he can’t win this 5 horse Albany maiden he gets life. He looked the winner last start but couldn’t get across the line. SO GREAT leads or box seats and was able to whack away well last start at Bunbury. KEBALAH gets a chance to roll to the top if he jumps. HARD TOO CEE has been finishing off well enough. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – HAPPY SANDAY WIN Race 2 WILLOW RIVER has been transferred down to the Albany yard of Bec Wallrodt and will not get a better chance to bounce into the winner’s circle. Very weak and limited maiden and if Whiting can get her to settle in the run she should skip away. Last chance and if she puts up the white flag then never again. HAILSTRUM was a shade disappointing late in the prep after running some nice races fresh. BACK AND FIVE was uncompetitive on debut but this is easier. LOKI ran alright on debut and improves. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – WILLOW RIVER WIN Race 3 CANNY LILY is one of the most consistent horses down in the Great Southern. She will need some luck early in running to get out of trouble from an awkward draw but if McNaught can position up outside the lead she goes close yet again. TAXADERMY is dropping sharply in grade after three average performances in the metro area. Can bounce back hard. WAR JEUNE is building quite the run of outs. He is better than recent runs. BOXONLUCY should get every chance. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CANNY LILY WIN Race 4 MY GIRL CHILLY was let run last start and is likely to be again here. Dan Staeck back makes a huge difference to her winning chances and gets another go. SHORT BLACK ROMAN was backed as if unbeatable last start and he got less than zero luck. He can find ways to get beaten but does look in good enough form to win another. CLEO’S AFTERPARTY bounced back to form last start and can go on with it. BENTLEY’S BROTHER is never far away and wins one soon. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – MY GIRL CHILLY EACHWAY Race 5 ONE POINT LADY won well fresh at her return to the races and then was thrown into the deep end on Bunbury Stakes day into a 3 year old race. Found them far too sharp. Freshened again and blinkers on can run a big race. PASAJERO sat outside Double Bubble at Ascot and was not disgraced. This is a lot easier assignment. ROUND THE POINT is far better suited here over 1200 than last start at a mile. Watch the money between the stablemates. MAGIC OPUS was very impressive winning last start. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – ONE POINT LADY WIN Race 6 TRANQUILLA SUNRISE has really hit form. Drawn in gate 8 he will work across to at worst sit in the breeze and could even cross them from the outside. Regardless he is in form and should be there a long way. BLIZZARD EXPRESS was impressive winning last start and draws soft. SENSO was a shade disappointing last start but can bounce back. ARRUM BOY was poor last start. He is better than that but may be looking for the paddock. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – TRANQUILLA SUNRISE WIN Race 7 WANNA BE GOOD trialed up well behind the speedy My Lady. Should position up midfield from the draw and looks capable of winning at WA debut. His race form from over East should see him hard to beat. This could be an easy kill. CAPTIVATED POINT is easily the best horse in this field and has lumped a big weight to victory in this exact same grade earlier in the preparation. COPPER FURY would go close if McNaught could cross them. TWISTED MOUNTAIN is going well enough to win. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – WANNA BE GOOD WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,5,6,9 2,4,7 3,4,5,7 1,2,3,6,7 Market Market
