Scott Embry’s Friday Narrogin Preview Posted on January 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 I AM SPARTACUS is the sole representative of the low flying Harvey stable. Showed enough behind some more than handy types in his first preparation to be competitive here and if the stable money comes it may be wise to follow. OVERTHRONE is drawn to get all the favors in running and is right in the mix. GLOBAL RULER was impressive on the wrong side of the Pinjarra straight before failing at York. Pay to forgive. PRINCESS SHARI next best. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – I AM SPARTACUS WIN Race 2 ATACAMA SKY commenced awkwardly and was consequently crossed at his Narrogin debut. Destined for the breeze here and gets every chance to shake the ‘milk drinker’ tag. If he doesn’t win this then surely, surely we won’t see him in the Taylor silks again. RAPISARDA is looking for his third win in as many starts and couldn’t have found a better race to do so. AFLICA’S GIRL resumes for a new trainer after a 344 day break. One to watch. MISS SOMEBODY joins her third stable but has genuine speed. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ATACATA SKY WIN Race 3 WILLOW RIVER comes to Narrogin off the back of 2 nice trials where she showed an abundance of early speed. Looks a jump, run and win type job. THE WITCH DOCTOR absolutely bolted in at the trials albeit under a fair bit of vigor from Steven Parnham. The first 100m of the race could determine the result. RETURN sits on speed with only 52.5kgs after the claim of inform apprentice Jade McNaught. SAX ON ASSAULT trialed greenly but isn’t hopeless on debut. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – WILLOW RIVER WIN Race 4 COPPER FURY is a track specialist and won well enough last start over 930m to be thereabouts over the longer trip. SIXPENCE SPENT was his own worst enemy at his most recent assignment and can make amends quickly. GET THE VIBE has had a luckless campaign and can figure in the finish without surprising. SHOUHOU will come with one late run at them. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – COPPER FURY WIN Race 5 SHERA KHAN contested an Oaks last preparation and today finds herself in a Narrogin maiden. Had plenty of excuses when failing as race favorite at York last time out and this looks her distance range. SURE CONVICTION steps up in trip and jockey Percy Turner may try and take luck out of the equation and settle on speed. THE DIVINE WIND has some decent runs under his belt this preparation and Glenn Smith is sure to give him every chance. REGENT STAR isn’t impossible dropping back from the 2000m and the stable loves a juicy priced winner. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SHERA KHAN WIN Race 6 ZEDSTORM has had a fairly unusual career to date, trailing on many occasions and having only one failed attempt on race day. Has always shown plenty of ability however and can today repay some patient connections. CARLEY EMILY appears suited to the step up in distances after 2 runs down the Pinjarra straight. Maps well from barrier 2 and that form has proven hot. LUC’S STAR is a 22 start maiden but has drawn well for the evergreen Glenn Smith. FAMOUS ROMANCE is starting to hit her peak for the underrated Beeps Rogers yard. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – ZEDSTORM WIN Race 7 DYNABELLE trialed stylishly under Lucy Warwick with that effort looking even more appealing after the impressive win of Macroy midweek. Will need some luck from an awkward draw but Lucy has magic hands. COSMIC EYES is a trainer’s nightmare. Has all the ability to be a very nice horse, when she wants to be. If the real Cosmic Eyes turns up she can bolt in. SHESAPOCKET ROCKET wasn’t disgraced when thrown in the deep end by trainer Bruce Watkins after a maiden victory. SPORTY SPICE broke through last time out and has enough ability to go on with it. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DYNABELLE WIN Race 8 BERGIO looks to be heading towards a Narrogin cup. Has always looked a promising stayer and has the advantage of being a winner at the track. Hard to beat. BLACK SMUGGLER has had his fair share of trainers and always been a tough horse to catch, however when he puts his best foot forward races very competitively. ICE CRUSHER was a late scratching after being kicked behind the gates at York. Was well in the market on that occasion and this looks suitable. COME ON BOARD the huge improver if Warwick can find the top. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BERGIO WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,6,9 7,10 1,2,4,5,6 1,2,5,6 Market Market
