Scott Embry’s Friday Geraldton Preview Posted on April 27, 2022April 30, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DESTRUCTOR looks to have found his maiden. Fourth behind Pop The Moet was good when wide throughout and then again had an excuse when second to Kandaka. Amazingly this horse has had 10 career outings and has been “wide throughout” in the Stewards’ report at 7 of those 10. He’s drawn gate 6 of 7 so it might be another “wide throughout” scenario but he’s ready to win and Tash Faithfull going on is a bonus. OUR CHARLIE BOY gave some cheek last start. No doubt Jett Stanley will look to lead and roll them along. Pinches one eventually with that style of racing. PRETTY ADMIRABLE has been getting better with racing. HAWK should improve. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – DESTRUCTOR WIN RACE 2 YOU CAN TELL ME has had two trials in Geraldton before back to back meetings on April 16 and 21 and has won both of those trials. Looks to have natural ability and with many rivals having had their fair share of opportunities without breaking through we’ll side up with the debutante. Perfectly drawn and John Reynolds trains a lot of winners with a small team. BOLD PROPHET has shown a little bit here and there. The debut run was great. ROEY CLAM is first-up and can take advantage of the inside gate. MISS SILVERSPRINGS joins the yard of Cathy Godden and you’d think she’s headed for Carnarvon. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – YOU CAN TELL ME WIN RACE 3 SLY AS A FOX looks far too good for rivals here. If You Can Tell Me gets the cash in Race 2 we’ll roll it into Sly As A Fox and if he gets beat we’ll lick our wounds and back Sly As A Fox. First- C2 win was strong when deep and working and beat home subsequent winner The Singing Tiger. Last start nothing went right. This is so much easier and there’s minimal opposition. Looks the winner. PRINCE SAIYAN could surprise a few fresh without a trial. MAGNUSON MAN has speed and his best chance would be to burn the candle at both ends. PROMISSION can be hit and miss but her best is handy. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – SLY AS A FOX WIN RACE 4 STOCKTAKA is no world beater but he seems to go well whenever he can park up on top of the speed and keep his momentum up. This looks a great race for him to get those conditions with Proxy likely to roll along and Stocktaka to go with him. Only finished 2L off them in town last start. PROXY is starting to work into some sort of form and if he can cross to the top, he’ll run a cheeky race. ARABIAN RICHES is stretched at 1900m but has promised to win one all campaign. SAFE TO MAKEUP an improver after racing outside her weight division recently. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – STOCKTAKA WIN RACE 5 RUN FOR MONEY was a dynamite all the way winner two starts ago by almost 5L over Savage One and Minus Looks. Last start went to 1200m and was 36 days between outings when gunned down late by Jag The Joker and Savage One. Back to 1100m measn that Kayla Cross can find the front and control. Drops 2.5kg and is better suited back in trip. STARTRADE is a gun. Plain and simple. This might be the last time Geraldton gets to see him until the 2023 Batavia due to his rating but think he’ll fly the flag for the locals in Perth with great heart. MINUS LOOKS won well last start. Can he reproduce? CORN COB is deep into the preparation. Classy 3 year old who is versatile. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – RUN FOR MONEY WIN RACE 6 THE SINGING TIGER seems to have turned a corner late in the season. He went into a C5 last start and fought on bravely when third behind Stella Fair and Significant Hero. Stella Fair had won a 58+ at Ascot and Significant Hero on his day is a 70+ type. Drawn awkwardly but with Admiral Husson and Old Bailey engaged they should string out and hopefully he gets in. MISS MANDY drops 3.5kg and can sneak up in behind them. Don’t discount at odds. DARK PEAK will get a long way back. Have a lot of time for her but she’ll have a lot of ground to make up. AWESOME AS trialled super for the new yard. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE SINGING TIGER WIN RACE 7 EDMOND is yet to miss the money since coming to WA but hasn’t quite been able to find his right race. My Marlaina was in a different class to them last start. This race doesn’t have any My Marlaina’s and for that rason going to side with him to get the job done with 62kg. Expecting him to slide across in a race that doesn’t have a whole lot of tempo and find a prominent position over the speed. Lot of weight but looks to have a class edge on these. FROSTY BELLE is better than her last couple. Does drop 4kg here. HAYSTACKS ran well fresh when less than a length off them in a 56+ on Dongara Cup Day. The barrier hurts. NOBLE SPIRIT is going well. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – EDMOND WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4 1,2,4,6 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 1,9 Market Market
