Scott Embry’s Thursday Narrogin Preview Posted on April 27, 2022April 28, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BARTRADER hasn’t won a race in a long, long while, however, has shown some glimpses recently. Races don’t get much lower than these 46+ staying events at Narrogin and thinking that Cassey Martinan can work her way to the top and dictate to them. Three starts ago was 100-1 into 40-1 and ran a ripper in a 54+ when second to Irritable Rodnee and then was wide throughout when beaten under 5L by Brother Paddy, Tradem In and Keeper Sweet. Different way of looking at the race and could open juicy odds. BRAVE CONTENDER is knocking on the door. Class runner and getting closer. REEL SAFE is the lightly raced horse taking on a number of horses very much on their mark. HIGH MIST wasn’t a bad run at his return and the senior on is an indicator that David Catarino has him ready. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BARTRADER EACHWAY RACE 2 AMERICAN QUEEN is first-up without a trial but we’re going to trust that Boy Hill has the mare ready to rock and roll. This is definitely winnable for her and first-up last campaign she was beaten a nose in a near identical race at York. If she could reproduce her C3 1300m second placing to Jadavi she’d be very hard to beat in this. NODUSTONME is going well and the fresh run was super. Could even have a sniff for the lead here. TINY ‘N’ TUFF is suited to these country rating style races. Pinches one soon. RAGING ROCKET is going great runs deep into a campaign and gets a nice midfield run. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUEEN WIN RACE 3 JAMAICA JEUNEY went really hard in her recent trial and was gobbled up late. Thinking that they will take a similar approach with her here first-up at 1190m and like the fact that she’s been taken to a maiden handicap. She gets 57kg but main rivals Lucifer and Ruby’s Moon have even more on their backs. She’s a jump and run chance here. LUCIFER met with support on return and ran well. Should park up leader’s back from the inside. RUBY’S MOON chased really hard in a barrier trial. The first-up run last campaign was huge. SAVVY DAZZLER comes from some strong form races when last in work. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – JAMAICA JEUNEY WIN RACE 4 TOP NOTCH SCOTCH gets her opportunity in a really, really weak maiden. Effort two starts ago when third behind Rockstar Status and Arnray was excellent when working home nicely. Last start went to a staying maiden and it was a walk and sprint (first 1600m 12L slower than average) and she was simply out sprinted. This is her chance. WHAITIRI has woeful numerical form but convinced she’s going better than it reads on paper. She does have a burst of speed when she can get the right track into the race. MASARU is knocking on the door but will likely be short. OUR ESCAPE wasn’t horrible first-up at a mile. Tash Faithfull is riding brilliantly which helps. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TOP NOTCH SCOTCH WIN RACE 5 THE HAWKEYE simply loves these kinds of track and so does Gary Crispin. In the last 365 days Gary Crispin has trained 10 winners, 5 of them have been at York and 2 of them at Narrogin. His horses go to these outer provincial tracks and invariably run well and The Hawkeye is no different. He’ll eat up the ground and Jason Whiting rides him well. DIPLOMAT EXPRESS is extremely well placed into this by Graeme Ballantyne. The 10 year old saw a 50+ at Belmont Park four starts ago and was well supported in betting at a price and ran well. His most recent when only 3.7L off Buster Bash (Piccola Signora and Ground Braker) reads up well. Keep the old boy in consideration. BAMBUN BOY was a shade disappointing last start at Ascot. This is easier so he should be there abouts. BLAISZEN CAZAH has found form. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE HAWKEYE EACHWAY RACE 6 LIFE FOR A LIFE was massive at his first outing for Dean White. Went into the toughest race of his life first-up without a trial and managed to finish third on the heels of Our Boy Dylan and Cross Statement. Looks like he will be great fun for new connections and if he reproduces, he’ll be in the mix here. BOURBON BEAU had no luck at all fresh. His trial was super so it is well worth forgiving and following up. BEDOUIN BELLE is having her 20th start for the campaign but continues to put in her customary honest and consistent performance. Just needs an ounce of luck from the draw. LUCY DA GREY loves a leader’s back scenario. Gets it here. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – LIFE FOR A LIFE WIN RACE 7 HILTON won an 1100 on debut at Narrogin when leading throughout by over 3L. He then went to a pair of C1 assignments and things didn’t quite go right for him. His trial was a pass mark (never really asked for a full effort) and if he can kick though to lead from the inside he should take running down here. GLOBAL CONFLICT looked a new horse for Misty Bazeley and gave patient connections a great reward. Can go on with it now. THE HAITIAN POET gets back but finishes off hard and drops a stack of weight. ALL ON BLACK ran really well fresh. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – HILTON WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,6,7,9 2,3,4,5,7 2,5,6,7 3,5,7 Market Market
