Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on March 20, 2025March 20, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 QUEEN OF CHAOS has run second to Sure Thing (beating home Tra La La) and second to Flinders Lane at two of her last three outings. She’s deep into her campaign (start 10) but the maidens fall away week to week in a region like Esperance and by process of elimination she gets her chance. MANGANUI has been around the block. Tash Faithfull riding is reason enough alone to like him as a winning chance. NADELL copped a chop out at Albany on Sunday. MISSALOT is improving. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – QUEEN OF CHAOS WIN RACE 2 CLASSIC CODE resumed off 653 days first-up when beaten under a length and meeting with huge support in betting. Second-up wasn’t at the same level. Clearly has issues, but trusting in the Gary Burger operation to get her to the races here ready to go. Last 90 days: 10 runners, 4 winners. He’s elite. JAZALOT won a 1000m trial at Pinjarra and that will attract plenty of punters. ULTIMATE PARADISE is better than she showed 5 weeks ago. I HAD A DREAM has a think. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC CODE WIN RACE 3 PEARLY NUGGET won a C5 1100 first-up, ran third to in form gallopers Choixway and Dubai’s Daughter second-up and then couldn’t match it with them in a 70+ last time out. Worth remembering she went around $2.50 in a 70+ last start and now drops back into a 58+. Can bounce back. ALOTOFBANTER ran really well first-up and is drawn to get the right run. WESTERNIZE is always a winning chance when he sneaks back into this grade. KHALIDA is lengths better than her first-up performance. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – PEARLY NUGGET WIN RACE 4 MINOR DETAIL is one of the most consistent gallopers in the region. He’s only won 2 from 8 this time in, but he’s finished in the money at four others. I see he’s got a rider named for the Pingrup Cup on Saturday – so he may well be a scratching here. Watch. MY BOY EDDY is often there abouts but just doesn’t seem to want to win a race. KENNY THE KING rolls in front. KALLAROO – is there a day? Prayers for Mother Teresa (Brown). Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – MINOR DETAIL WIN RACE 5 HILTON is back to his best and like the entire Nick Thomas team Esperance has been a far better hunting ground than Kalgoorlie. He finished second in the Esperance Sprint and should get a near identical run in transit again. No reason he can’t win a fourth race this season. CRUNCHY NUT is now 7 weeks between runs after the false start debacle saw the two favourites late scratchings on Cup Day. DEBONNAIRE isn’t at the same level as he was at the KBRC. MUNGO JERRY bounces back. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – HILTON WIN RACE 6 DANCING CHOOSE is not a trustworthy animal, but watching all three replays (plus the trial) since joining Josh Brown it’s hard not to put him on top in this moderate C2 1300. Austin back on – yes please, back in grade – yes please, drawn well – great. Hopefully Friday is the day. FAVAIOS won back to back races earlier in his campaign and has battled away well his last two. Love the Sure Thing form. MARYBEE is a model of consistency and could well lead from barrier 1. RUM N GINGER a watch at odds. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – DANCING CHOOSE WIN RACE 7 ANOTHER LOVE joins Josh Brown and while she’s horribly out of form this campaign this race is so (so) much easier than recent outings in the metro area. Going to roll the dice and hope that she’s enjoying life in Esperance and can bounce back. If not – then we’ll declare her a wet track only proposition. CHARCOAL CHAOS has put in some cheeky runs here and there. SAFE RAPPA always there abouts when drawn well. TANKSFORTHEMEMORY wasn’t bad in a 58+ behind Habib and Westernize last start. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ANOTHER LOVE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,5,7 2,5 1,2,4,5,7 1,4,6,7,8 Market Market
