Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on June 11, 2020June 11, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TWO COOL is fresh and first start for a new trainer. Michelle Hagley takes the ride and while this mare has had a number of opportunities she can lead this field or sit outside the leader. Has always promised to win one at the short course and if she handles the track should take running down. PRINCESS LILYTESS has been beaten a long way in her races but in far tougher than this. She is another on-speed type who should go well. POPPIES won a race at Carnarvon last season before it was declared a no race. Fingers crossed she can get one on the board. CARMURLEA only needs to reproduce her debut effort to be in the finish. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – TWO COOL WIN RACE 2 MYTHICAL TRUST is a 9 year old and has had more than 80 career starts but backing up off 7 days and down in the weights he gets a great chance to pinch another one. Madi Derrick is every chance of finding the front and if she does he takes running down. JELANI EXPRESS has been noticeably slow away at both runs this preparation. If he jumps like he did in Broome he is very hard to beat. BROCKHOFF hasn’t won a race for over 1000 days and has his first attempt on the dirt. Should win a few c64+ races if he handles the track. WELL SPOKEN MAN ran well enough in town fresh to go close here. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MYTHICAL TRUST WIN RACE 3 HAYSTACKS simply picks himself here. This is a limited field and provided he handles the transition from Grass to Dirt then he should be far too good. Comes out of a race run 4L faster than average behind Madrid Centro (who was then $5 into $2.9 at his next start) and kept fresh and out of trouble should be saluting. SWIFTLY is fresh here and seems to enjoy the conditions in Carnarvon. TOMMY TO JACK another who returns to his ‘home ground’. MY CHINA DOLL comes from the same race as Haystacks and should be an improver. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – HAYSTACKS WIN RACE 4 NEWMARRACARA is a speed demon when set alight. Hoping that Keshaw Dhurun can sling shot him out of the machine and let him run against the inside rail on opening day. If he does let him run they’ll likely struggle to catch him. JUST A FLUKE was big in the two runs he had last preparation in Carnarvon, the last of them when bleeding. Winnable weight after the claim. STRIDE OUT had a break out season last campaign at the track and is sure to appreciate returning from Geraldton. INDRIEL finds a new home and on her day is very zippy. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – NEWMARRACARRA WIN RACE 5 KNUCKLE DOWN can be a hard horse to catch but 43 days ago Michelle Valentine pulled up stumps for his Geraldton season and saved him for the return to Carnarvon. Likely gets in under the radar and can improve out of sight back on the dirt. Love the appointment of Michelle Hagley. FASCINATION races on speed and should be suited by the Carnarvon style of racing. Comes out running for noted front running hoop Simone Altieri. TOTAL DISC and THERE AT FIVE are both fairly consistent and can both run races here. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – KNUCKLE DOWN EACHWAY RACE 6 DIAMONDS FOR ALL has been freshened as Rob Smith moves his little boutique team up north. He went through the grades nicely on the grass after finally breaking his maiden last campaign. If Beaux Edwards can find the top and let him roll he’ll be hard to beat. FERNGROVE is going well and is always a winning chance in this grade. NOBEL IMAGE comes up North after a good season in Albany. In form and races close to the speed. RHINO’S LAD a mad one for inclusion. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – DIAMONDS FOR ALL WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1 1,2,3 1,8 1,2,4 Market Market
