Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on July 4, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PATRONISM jumped well and then didn’t cross to the fence when pulling first-up. Travelled well on the dirt which is a huge indication that he will be winning races. Should bounce to the front here and be hard to run down. LADY VITAL has her first start for the Jane Hossell yard. Previous form definitely strong enough to win this. BLACK AND RED showed ability early in his career and joins a yard who can really improve them. CARSON DRIVE will keep coming and looks like improving out in trip. Numbers: 6 – 12 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – PATRONISM WIN Race 2 PREMIO MOMENTO stepping out to 1400m looks suited mainly for the fact that Tayla Stone should find the front. Not a deal of exposed speed and from there is clearly the one to run down. VITAL BOOM has been building towards another win and each run has improved on the dirt. Should be forward of midfield and gets her chance. SHOWY LADY has been out of form for a long while but could be worth inclusion in novelties. THUG LIFE loomed fresh but didn’t give much second-up. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – PREMIO MOMENTO WIN Race 3 IN THE MOSH PIT is a speedy maiden taking on horses who have won races but there is often not a large amount of difference between the maiden 1000s and the C3 1000s in Carnarvon. If Bennett can spring the gates could prove hard to run down. BOBCAT BOY really hit form in the outer country dirt circuit. SWIFT PLATINUM lands at yet another new stable. Not going well but best animal on his day. PLAY FOR PLEASURE worth inclusion. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – IN THE MOSH PIT EACHWAY Race 4 BEHROOZ has been a revelation this Carnarvon season winning three from three on the dirt. This is by far the toughest assignment he has seen and last start was sectionally his least impressive effort. Fresh due to abandoned meetings he will be hard to catch. NET PROFIT is a Carnarvon 1000m specialist. Undefeated after 5 attempts. Big danger even with the weight. CALABRIA JOE can stalk the speedsters. WHAT A DROP is going well. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – BEHROOZ WIN Race 5 MEGAMIND is better drawn in 8 than he was in 1 and 2 at the abandoned meetings. He is not brilliantly away but if he can muster and then find the front or sit just off the speed he’ll be hard to run down. BALMONTSTUNNER has been eye catching his last few and looks well placed to break through. Big danger. REGAL HONOUR is a veteran of dirt racing and can give cheek. PROUD HISTORY ran a much-improved race last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – MEGAMIND WIN Race 6 GERSHOM has run placings in 64+ races his last two and now drops back to a 55+. Looks very well placed and very hard to beat for ‘The Boond’. RUN FOR A REASON is the logical danger. Winning two starts ago and then far from disgraced in tougher last start. GRECO is the X-Factor runner. If they let him lead he’ll be hard to catch. ARGOON was beaten fair and square first-up but at his second attempt on the dirt can improve. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – GERSHOM WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,7 1,4 1,2,6,10,11 2,3,5 Market Market
