Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 20, 2020August 21, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PROJECTION ran eight last week and was beaten 7.75L but that was dropping back to 1200m and amazingly ran all the best closing sections of the race. Backing up he steps to a mile which looks far more suitable and pretty keen that he opens his winning account here. Interesting to see what price he opens but no surprise to see a flood of money for him. MIAMI MOON comes from the same race and she has been knocking on the door since joining Darryn Pateman. BONROCA comes back into maiden grade and should improve off the first dirt effort. TOP TRADE can improve up in trip. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – PROJECTION WIN RACE 2 THE CHOIRSTER had a tonne of excuses last start when off the track and outside the leader at 1400m. Drops back to 1200m and if Madi Derrick can get him into a reasonable position in running then he’ll take some beating. Prior to the last start defeat was the winner of three on the trot. GREYWOLF has relished the move up to Carnarvon. From the inside should get every chance to win two in a row. JELANI EXPRESS has returned to some form and is kept fresh. PREMIO MOMENTO has the speed to come across. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE CHORISTER WIN RACE 3 DANEFIN dropped back from 1700 to 1000m last week in what was a glorified barrier trial to avoid running into stablemate Madrid Centro. Ran out of his skin to get as close as he did to the winner at the short course and he should be back to his winning ways here. He’s odds on all day every day. MACAVITY is building and likely to appreciate a bit of extra trip. SEA TRYST is a 12 year old and TELL ME THIS is an 11 year old. Both are racing full of heart and hard to knock. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – DANEFIN WIN RACE 4 RETRIBUTION was great at his WA debut for Kelvin Moore. Almost scored when heavily commissioned at a price and now backing up off 7 days and stepping up to 1400m looks very suitable. If he brings his best he’ll be very hard to beat in this field. JUPITERS SUN had to do a stack of work to cross last week and is worth forgiving. Hannah Fitzgerald riding very well and on the back-up is well placed. BROTHER RAND is first-up but talented and likes the surface. BALRANTO an improver. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – RETRIBUTION WIN RACE 5 JENABEL, FAIR GLORY, MAJORAS MARK, BOLD VICTORY and many others are all live chances. This is nearly a field job for the quaddie and regardless of selection it should be eachway the field. Siding with JENABEL who is likely to park deep the trip but that’s almost been position A at Carnarvon this year. FAIR GLORY ran well at his first start on the dirt. MAJORA’S MASK ran his best race in months and was highly competitive in Broome last year. KICKAPOO showed a glimpse. Keep safe. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – JENABEL EACHWAY RACE 6 CHEVAL DE VAGA first-up ran fourth to Excellent Dream, Weaponson and Nobelium. He was then crossed from an inside gate at his first start on the dirt and clearly resented the kick-back. The speed in this race is drawn very wide so fingers crossed that Snaggers Sardelic can kick through and lead because that brings him right into the race. Going to be forgiving. QUIRINDI has found form and while she’s drawn wide she can sustain a run and there’s guaranteed to be a three deep train. DASH FOR KNICKERS and URBAN GIRL are both impressive last start winners. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – CHEVAL DE VAGA WIN RACE 7 VIOTTI has been a brilliant acquisition for Sean Rains little team. The last two wins have been strong and kept at the flying 1000m looks well placed to make it a winning hattrick. Very honest and consistent and a will fight out the finish. KRAMDEN was a good winner last week and drops back in grade. Goes up 5.5kg as a result but proven dirt commodity. BEHROOZ is not quite racing at his brilliant best of 2 years ago but looks to be getting close. GOLDEN ACRES an unknown on the surface but good enough talent wise. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – VIOTTI WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,9 FIELD 1,5,8,11 1,2,4 Market Market
