Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 19, 2020August 20, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ADMIRED has always looked like he would make a stayer. Got out over a trip last preparation but might have just come a little early for him. Gary Crispin’s yard has been going well and his last start effort was solid. This is a weak 2000m and he should give a sight. VITAL FLIRT is clearly flying and has ability. She does a lot wrong and continues to miss the kick. Wins one very soon but could be costly to follow. FINAL CHILL is a perennial maiden and having his 11th start this preparation. Knocking on the door and getting close. SPECIAL IMAGE draws a gate and has been competitive all prep. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – ADMIRED WIN RACE 2 YAMATAI draws a gate to settle midfield and if they’re getting to the centre of the rain affected Pinjarra track then Clint Johnston-Porter can work his way to the outside. Ran well first-up and should only be improved for the outing. LINCOLNS LAW comes from a 2 year old set weights and penalties race and then a midweek 3 year old race and drops weight into an all age maiden. Clearly it’s a ‘drop in class’ when considering the opposition and you throw in the 3.5kg weight drop and blinkers going on. He’ll be in the finish. ALLEZ ALLEZ went well fresh but the draw makes it tougher. MIXED PERSONALITY an improver. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – YAMATAI WIN RACE 3 HOWS THE SERENITY was awesome on debut when ripping late ground off Just a Pinch. First-up ran into Clairvoyance, Panzdown and Starfield Impact. Clairvoyance is returning WFA Performance Ratings north of 100 and looks a G1 horse in the making, Panzdown is the talk of the Simon Miller yard and Starfield Impact is a multiple blacktype filly. Drops into a moderate maiden and should go very close. WARDIAN is very new, very green and cost herself victory last start. If she goes straight she’ll clearly test How’s the Serenity. ZAC LUVS TO FLY ran well fresh and the form could look even stronger if Ginger Green wins Wednesday. RAG N BONEMAN looks to have some ability. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – HOWS THE SERENITY WIN RACE 4 FIRST MOMENT trialled well behind Mischievous Diva at Belmont before enduring a tough run on debut. Made a better showing at her second start when third behind Classic Magnus and Vane Tempest. Interesting to see how Classic Magnus goes on Wednesday in the C1 but if she runs well and the form holds up then First Moment should be in the finish. BABURIZZA will have opinions divided out of the trials but the race form is fairly hard to knock from her debut preparation. REBEL TAIL has race experience on her side and while all finishes were midfield she was running well enough. TABELLA is a typical Arthur Mortimer horse. Going to be hard to catch but she’ll be winning races. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – FIRST MOMENT WIN RACE 5 OZZY BOY is on debut and couldn’t have fallen into a nicer race to make his first outing. His recent trial under Mitch Pateman was strong when winning by 3L and running a very decent time for the 1100s at Lark Hill. Going to bank on him to get the job done. DELLARAAJ returns to the races 70 days between runs. Couple of minor gear changes and back in trip, she is worth consideration on natural ability alone. KINDER KINDER is a clear cut wet tracker. If the track is chopped out she’ll hit the line better than anything. REGAL DIVIDEND ran a reasonable race on debut. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – OZZY BOY WIN RACE 6 PLAY HARD improved sharply first-up to second-up and Austin ‘Spuds’ Galati rode him to absolute perfection. The key to his chances is finding the front and rolling them along. His wins are in high pressure races where he runs rivals ragged. Should find the top and take running down. PHONEME is now fourth start, drawn a gate and ready to run his best race yet in WA after a couple of encouraging outings. STREET FAIR was a good thing beat last start. He let down powerfully when he finally saw daylight. ARTIES JEWELS has hit a strong patch of form. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – PLAY HARD EACHWAY RACE 7 TYCOON STORM is probably the most talented horse we’ll see at Pinjarra on Thursday. Winner of three from five and her only defeats were on debut behind Wine Night when she found 1100m a bit sharp and then in the Pinjarra Magic Millions when dropping from 1500 back to 1200m and finishing behind Cryptic Wonder, Tommy Blue and Wine Night. All her form is very strong and her last trial win was soft. Only query will be drawn gate 1 if the track is suiting those down the centre. BOBCAT JOHNNIE is in a lot of black books. The big fella is his own worst enemy out of the gates but if he jumps he’ll be in this up to his neck. SUPER TEROITOA and Laqdar Ramoly get along brilliantly. Lucky will jump him and roll. PARIS REPORT comes back in grade, has blinkers on and Chris Parnham aborard. Big changes. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – TYCOON STORM WIN RACE 8 MONG KHON had his chance last start but didn’t quite finish the race off. Still ran well enough to be a big chance in this and with a gear change and the perfect gate there’s no reason why he won’t be in the finish. Very even race and he looks like enjoying the right run. LOOKS LIKE MAGIC has only won the one race in her 21 start career but her last few have all been excellent and in stronger races than this. THE THUNDERESS lost no admirers last start. Simply got too far out of her ground. POLITE PASS doesn’t have the strongest race form but the trial was great. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 7 – 12 Suggested Bet – MONG KHON EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,5,9 1,3,7,8,9 1,2,5,7 3,5,7,8,10,12 Market Market
