Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on July 23, 2020July 23, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DASH FOR KNICKERS had her first start for the Graeme Hammarquist yard in Carnarvon last meeting and was chasing around Carmurlea who ran one of the fastest 1000m maiden times for the last couple of season. That has to be the form reference race to focus in on and DASH FOR KNICKERS was strong in the run. EMPIRE KHAN had his first start and ran second in that hot Carmurlea race so naturally he looks the biggest danger on paper. PHANDIERI has her first start on the dirt and most of her provincial and metro maiden form is easily good enough to win. SCENIC CHARM has had a number of chances but should go well here. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – DASH FOR KNICKERS WIN RACE 2 STILL AWAKE was big at her first start in Carnarvon and then dropped back in trip to 1000m. She broke her maiden over a mile and looks like a mare who will only get better and better with ground. Willing to forgive and forget that she went round last start and off her first-up run in the region deserves to be favourite. TWIST MY ARM was a big win off a slow speed last time out. Interesting to see if he can reproduce. ANGEL JUPITER won her maiden in style and then got beaten a furlong last start. Looking for an improved effort. MY CHINA DOLL has shades on and can improve. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – STILL AWAKE WIN RACE 3 MADRID CENTRO is marching his way through the grades and toward a Carnarvon Cup dual with all conquering stablemate in Danefin. Has won by absolute spaces at his last two and the scary thing is that his final 200m splits have been his fastest, he is actually running away from them when eased down. Should be leading and winning again. JENABEL won well last start like a mare who was in for a good season. Might just run into a track specialist here. ANDRIENI was huge first-up and then very moderate second-up. Senior rider on, worth following up. LUCKY CHARLIE next best. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – MADRID CENTRO WIN RACE 4 MYTHICAL TRUST looks very well placed back in to this grade. Madi Derrick takes 2kg off so it’s 60 after the claim but all of Ray Malpass’ horses are low flying and from the draw he should nearly lead this field. If he does get to the top he takes running down. PREMIO MOMENTO finally broke through last start after a very consistent start to the Carnarvon season. Should again prove hard to beat. BROWSING has put the writing on the wall sectionally at her two runs for a new stable. Keep her safe and should find a winnable race very soon. INDRIEL did everything wrong last start but still went close. Comes out running to find a spot. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – MYTHICAL TRUST WIN RACE 5 SKY ATLAS was a big query at his first start on the surface last meeting and ran a huge race. Snaggers Sardelic gave him a peach last start and if he can reproduce the ride and the horse take any natural improvement there is no reason why he can’t sit off the speed and turn the tables on Jelani Express with a big 5kg weight swing. JELANI EXPRESS was heavily commissioned last start and the money was spot on. Tramped three deep the trip and just kept coming. Has found form and should hold it. NEWMARRACARRA and STRIDE OUT will both bel looking to kick through and inject speed. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – SKY ATLAS WIN RACE 6 GLEN ALBYN could well be yet another winner for the Ray Malpass yard. This race looks to really only have three or four live chances and he should take great benefit from his first start on the dirt. Would probably prefer him stepping out to a mile but still should prove hard to beat at 7 furlongs. KNUCKLE DOWN has been building towards another win for a while now. Gets big weight relief with Keshaw Dhurun going abord and gets his chance. RHINOS LAD is consistent and should find the top. MAJORAS MASK brings a level of intrigue after enjoying a great Broome season last year. Numbers: 11 – 13 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – GLEN ALBYN WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2 1,2,7 1,2,3,4,5,7 3,7,11,13 Market Market
