Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 23, 2020July 23, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ARMA INDIE (3) led throughout to win the Breeders’ Stakes at her last start before a spell and has performed credibly from bad barriers at her two runs since resuming. She is better drawn tonight and should prove hard to beat. MANDY JOAN (4) is racing extremely well and should be right in the finish from her nice draw. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (1) has been placed in three of her past four starts and looks a major player from the pole. TYPHOON TIFF (6) has won nine of her 16 starts but is drawn outside her main rivals tonight. Tips: 3 4 1 6 Suggested Bet: ARMA INDIE (3) to win. Race 2 OUR VIRTUOSO (1) led when a close-up 3rd to Pierre Whitby two starts back. He looks to get an easy time in front tonight and should prove hard to catch. CLARENDEN HUSTLER (10) sat on the leader when a solid Bunbury winner at his last start and will enjoy the same trip tonight. TUAS DELIGHT (5) started at $101 when a brave 3rd here last week and should be thereabouts with a similar effort. MACHS GOLD (11) has finished towards the rear at his past four starts but has a nice trailing draw tonight and can improve. Tips: 1 10 5 11 Suggested Bet: OUR VIRTUOSO (1) to win. Race 3 HENWOOD BAY (2) has been battling bad barriers but has still been placed in four of his last six starts. He is drawn to get a nice run here and looks a good chance at each way odds. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (3) hasn’t had much luck of late but can be driven aggressively here and looks a major player. BOOM TIME (10) is another who has been out of luck and will be charging home tonight if he sees daylight in the final lap. TWENTYNINE TWELVE (1) ran 2nd from this draw here last week and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 2 3 10 1 Suggested Bet: HENWOOD BAY (2) each way. Race 4 HANDSANDWHEELS (5) led and went head to head with CHICAGO BULL (7) for 2500m last week when bloused by the little champ on the line. He will be fitter for that run and can turn the tables over the shorter trip tonight. CHICAGO BULL (7) has won five of his past seven starts and is the obvious danger after last week’s effort. CONVERT DENARIO (1) won his last two starts before a spell and has trialled well for his return. STROKE OF LUCK (2) has impressed in his two WA runs and can play a part from this draw. Tips: 5 7 1 2 Suggested Bet: HANDSANDWHEELS (5) to win. Race 5 ALTA BLUES (2) has shown plenty of ability in his four career starts despite only bringing up the one win. He narrowly failed to catch THE STARS ABOVE (5) here two starts back but can turn the tables tonight. THE STARS ABOVE (5) led throughout from the pole to win that event and will be hard to catch if he finds the top again. POWER AND GRACE (8) is drawn poorly but is racing extremely well and must be considered. MANNING (6) couldn’t make up ground in a quick last half here last start but will be suited by a genuine tempo. Tips: 2 5 8 6 Suggested Bet: ALTA BLUES (2) to win. Race 6 PARMESAN (1) has won eight of his last ten starts, leading throughout in most of those events. He enjoys a significant barrier advantage over his main rival and looks the one to beat. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (9) has displayed freakish speed to overcome similar draws amongst his five consecutive victories and is the obvious danger. ONE FOR DAVE ANDME (10) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a great place chance. PIERRE WHITBY (5) was an impressive winner here last week and could be the blowout chance. Tips: 1 9 10 5 Suggested Bet: PARMESAN (1) to win. Race 7 CYCLONE BANNER (1) was beaten on his merits by WHILE THEY PRAY (7) here two starts back before leading throughout to defeat a weaker field last week. He has the barrier advantage over his main rival again and may be able to turn the tables tonight. WHILE THEY PRAY (7) was a strong winner of that event and will be hard to beat if he can bully his way to the top again. BAYLAN JETT (3) is racing well and will be suited by the expected strong tempo. BETTOR PARTY (8) is racing well but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 7 3 8 Suggested Bet: CYCLONE BANNER (1) to win. Race 8 ROBBIE EASTON (1) has been a beaten odds-on favourite at two of his last three starts but hasn’t had much luck. He isn’t certain to lead from the pole but is still capable of winning if he is crossed at the start. ROCK ME OVER (2) has resumed from a spell with two solid 4ths behind Chicago Bull and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. SON OF A TIGER (7) sprinted well to hold off Stroke Of Luck at his last start and is suited by the small field. JUST ROCKON BYE (5) has proven herself against the boys in the past and can play a part. Tips: 1 2 7 5 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE EASTON (1) to win. Race 9 INFATUATION (3) has won eight of his past 11 starts, most of which were when he was able to find the front. He disappointed when racing back in the field at his last effort but looks the likely leader tonight and will be hard to catch. ULTIMATE OFFER (4) is the obvious danger but may have to sit outside the favourite. BRACKEN SKY (2) chased hard when 2nd to Cyclone Banner last week and looks a great place chance again. THE BLACK CARDINAL (5) is racing consistently and is never far away. Tips: 3 4 2 5 Suggested Bet: INFATUATION (3) to win. Race 10 BLACK JACK BABY (5) had won seven of her eight career starts but couldn’t handle the hot tempo when beaten a long way in the Golden Slipper. She has shown that she has bounced back from that with a solid Byford trial win and should be able to handle this field. LADY BELLA ANNE (2) ran home well along the pegs to finish 2nd in the Gold Bracelet and looks the only danger. ABSOLUTE DELIGHT (3) defeated a weak field at her last start and can be placed here. OUR SHOOTING STAR (1) is drawn to get a soft run and can be in the money. Tips: 5 2 3 1 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK BABY (5) to win. Market Market
