RACE 2 No. 2 Consommateur

Victorian trained 3yo from the Mick Kent stable who is out to defend her title in this race having scored in runaway fashion on a Heavy (10) rated track 12 months ago. Whilst she is second up this time (was 3rd up last year) her first up run was very good in solid company at Flemington. The engagement of Hugh Bowman is a very strong pointer she’s forward enough to win again.

RACE 7 No. 10 Sunlight

What a star this filly is, Magic Millions winner, only the one defeat in six starts and has that all important quality to find a position early and sprint hard when required to in the straight. She may have run slower time than Written By last week however trainer Tony McEvoy will no doubt have left something in the tank keeping in mind tomorrow is her Grand Final. Happy to stick with her.

RACE 8 No. 2 Jungle Edge

Perhaps not the best horse in the field tomorrow however not far from it and will get conditions to suit on a rain-affected track. It’s a case of the ‘wetter the better’ for him as he’s an absolute swimmer having won 13 times on Soft/Heavy tracks whilst yet to trouble the scorer on anything dry. Can’t knock his recent form either chasing home Redzel at Randwick first up!
