Illawarra begin this head to head series with the Breakers at home on Thursday night, before travelling back to Vector Arena in NZ on Sunday for the rematch.

Game rating – Illawarra 92 v New Zealand 89

The Breakers have not been the same side since Illawarra cleaned them up in NZ (83-107) during Round 11.  Since that match the Breakers have gone 1-3 and the Hawks keep winning, sustaining an 8-2 run which has seen their scoring average increase five points from 90 to 95 per game the highest in the NBL.  When these two teams first met back in Round 2, it was Illawarra at home that dished out a belting, winning (96-75) so this assignment looks a tough one for the Breakers.

Prediction

The markets may appear tight but the short price of $1.45 is warranted for the Hawks who look to have the Breakers measure.  The scoring backcourt of Penny and Lisch is unstoppable at the moment and defending beyond the arc is not the Breakers strong point.
