Million Dollar Chase Preview Posted on October 16, 2025October 16, 2025 | Posted by TABtouch The stage is set for the richest race in Greyhound racing as Wentworth Park hosts the final of the Million Dollar Chase on Friday night. With twelve races on the card and a $1 Million prize on the line, the card is stacked with arguably the best greyhound racing of the year. Who can forget the 2024 edition of the Chase? Punters saw one of the biggest upsets in greyhound racing history. Blue Kermaro, a $10,000 purchase who only made the semi-final due to injury took home the coveted $1 Million in prize money in a fairytale story. The current race record of 29.32s is held by She’s a Pearl, who won in 2022. Will there be another upset in the 2025 edition? See the key insights and runner by runner preview from TABtouch below. Key Insights: The Million Dollar Chase is Race 8 on the card. In seven previous editions of the Million Dollar Chase, the greyhound from box 2 has not missed a place (Eriza Sparkles in the 2025 edition). Eriza Sparkles was the fastest winner in the semifinals clocking 29.17s. BOX 1: Foreign Capital An outsider in this quality field despite drawing the cherry. Does have a good record from the 1 (5 starts: 2 wins, 2 seconds) but would need to run a huge race to trouble these without any tactical early speed. BOX 2: Eriza Sparkles The Group 1 Dapto Megastar winner who has drawn perfectly. Eriza Sparkles has early speed and without speed from box 1, could find the rail early and give the field something to chase. Boasts the second-best time behind Power and Glory over the distance and is 2/2 from box 2. Looks a standout contender. BOX 3: My Boy Bingo Not without a chance but lacks early speed from box 3 which will create some doubt for punters. Currently around the $10 mark in markets and has been specced at a price. A good selection for exotic bets behind the market leaders. BOX 4: Canya Sapphire Has been friendless with punters and sits around the $13 mark. Does have early speed but with a best time over the distance clocked at 29.47s, will have to run a PB to get the money. BOX 5: Power and Glory The standout contender in the race who has tactical speed to manage the middle draw. Already a Golden Easter Egg winner and hosts the best time over the distance (29.15s). Boasting a good record from box 5 (8 starts: 3 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third), he has been the favourite in early markets. Look for Power and Glory to find the leaders around the turn and gun them down in the final straight, his typical racing pattern. BOX 6: Daysea’s Rory Currently sitting around the $8 mark, with a best time of 29.53s and 4 wins from 12 starts in box 6, will need some luck in the run to be a threat to the main contenders. With a 67% place rate, he does offer some value in place markets. BOX 7: Smooth Plane Currently a $13+ chance. It’s best time of 29.57s puts Smooth Plane almost half a second off the key contenders in this race. Does have a good record from box 7 (13 starts for 7 wins) but lacks early speed and may have too much work to do to get around these from the wider gate. BOX 8: Zipping Ariel Hard to mount a case for Zipping Ariel who is yet to record a win from box 8. With a best time of 29.44s, she will have to run a huge race to trouble these.
