Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on July 21, 2017 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday 21st July 2017 Race 4 – No. 3 Red Hot Reagan SuperPick Profit Plus 20% (Place) Returned from an injury enforced spell with a handy 3rd from the extreme outside at Cannington last week over 380m. Generally holds her form once she finds it and she can run time over this trip. Drawn nicely and looks the value runner. Race 5 – No. 5 Pepper Fire Exceptional talent who returns from a productive Victorian campaign where she made the Group 1 Sapphire Crown Final. She’s finished in the top 4 in 51 of her 60 starts so far and is undefeated in 4 runs over the trip. Has the early pace to overcome the awkward draw and looks the standout in this line up. Race 6 – No. 2 Ashom Monelli Proved far too good on debut over this trip when leading all the way in a heat of the Middle Distance Challenge and then had no luck at all a week later in the final. Recent form in tougher at Cannington has been strong and he should take a power of beating back on his home track. Bet Now! Cannington Saturday 22nd July 2017 Race 1 – No. 4 Doc Hudson SuperPick Profit Plus 20% (Place) Smart chaser who is a winner in 5 of 9 over the trip and has been racing in fine fashion over 405m at Mandurah of late. Capable of leading all the way and also can produce a strong finish so he must be respected despite the strong line up. Race 7 – No. 1 West On Hawkeye Has been racing without much luck over the longer 600m of late. Demolished his rivals by over 9 lengths in the We$tchase final when last seen over this trip in a smart 29.97 and finally gets his first red rug at headquarters after 21 starts here. Dropping a long way in grade and should be able to bounce back into the winners circle. Race 9 – No. 8 Ess Bee Racing well without winning since stepping up to this distance, finishing in and around the placings in all 3 starts. She’ll be doing her best work at the finish and if she happens to stay out of trouble, she should prove hard to hold out.
