Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on August 20, 2021August 20, 2021 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday, 20th August 2021 Race 7 – No. 2 Phantom Monelli Has been finding it hard to win of late but he hasn’t been all that far away and does drop significantly in grade. A return to his best form would not surprise in this line up. Race 8 – No. 2 Tell It Walking Can be risky early but she has been finishing her races off with great gusto, finishing in and around the placings when going down by narrow margins. Tonight could be her night where she breaks the long run of outs. Race 11 – No. 4 Up And About Did indeed get left behind when resuming over the 405m last week but he was hitting the line hard late after covering plenty of extra ground on the home turn. Up in distance and will find this more to his liking. Can bounce back. Each Way: Race 6 – No. 2 Steampunk Wolf Ran a career best 22.48 when leading all the way from this draw and in this company last week. This field has more depth but a similar effort can see him cause back to back upsets. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 3.5 / 2.4.6 / 1.2.7 / 1.2.5.6.8 $50 for 55.55% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Saturday, 21st August 2021 Race 2 – No. 2 Buller Monelli In and around the placings in 7 of his 9 starts so far, all from no closer than box 4. Strong finisher who should get a handy run from his best draw yet. Top chance. Race 5 – No. 6 Historic Time The in-form chaser with back to back wins over varying distances from wider draws than this. Can be risky early but if close enough in the run, he should be steaming over the top of them at the finish. Race 7 – No. 7 Chaos Ball Ultra-impressive when winning over the short course on Sunday, leading all the way from a similar draw in a slick 15.84. She’s only missed the place once in 7 attempts over this longer trip and while this is tougher, she can go on with the job now. Each Way: Race 8 – No. 5 Sleepy George Proved he has what it takes to handy the company with a near all the way win from this very draw last week in a strong 29.91. This field has more depth but a similar effort should see him go mighty close to winning again. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 1.3.6 / 2.4.6 / 4.5.7 / 1.2.5.7 $50 for 46.29% Trifecta – Race 3 2.4.7.8 Allways $30 for 125% First Four – Race 10 5.6.8 / 5.6.8 / 5.6.8 / 1.2.3.4 $50 for 208.33% Bet Now! Mandurah Sunday, 22nd August 2021 Race 1 – No. 7 Diamond Pete Has ran a couple of handy races at headquarters during his short career but might find the bigger circuit of Mandurah more to his liking. Small field suits and a forward showing would not surprise. Race 7 – No. 3 Submariner Gave cheek at odds in over 520m in city company last week when narrowly beaten by the well performed West On Grit. Runner up in a heat of the Mandurah Derby from this very draw at his 490m debut. Well placed here and looks hard to beat. Race 12 – No. 7 Molfetta Dawn Failed to beat a runner home in her lone run over this trip, albeit with excuses, way back in December. Has been jumping much better of late over varying distances at headquarters and with no known early speedsters drawn to her inside, she could surprise these by leading early and proving hard to run down. Chance at odds. Bet Now! Bet Now!
