Michael Heaton’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 4, 2019June 5, 2019 | Posted by Michael Heaton Michael Heaton’s Preview Race 1 BRAVE CONTENDER had no luck on debut and chased home a handy one when runner-up last time out. He can get Pike on the board early. PROTECTED ACTION comes out of strong form reference races and can settle closer here. CARABINIER resumes off a recent trial win when wearing blinkers and has the addition of shades here. He should box seat from barrier one and get the run of the race. CRYSTAL SPRINGS makes her race debut and has shown a bit at trials. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BRAVE CONTENDER WIN Race 2 Lou Luciani has his team flying and he can saddle up his fifth winner from his past nine starters with LUKE’S CHOICE here. He maps a little awkwardly but won with more in hand last start. OVER THERE comes out of the same race and tends to get a long way out of her ground but is capable of reeling off huge late sections. She can win. JUPITERS SUN is likely to roll to the top with the blinkers going on here and can give them something to catch. COCKATIEL has disappointed so far this campaign but will get the run of the race and should be nearing her peak. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – LUKE’S CHOICE WIN Race 3 FINANCIAL SUPPORT resumes and returned career-high figures first and second-up last preparation. His recent trial win when having the addition of blinkers was impressive and he should get a lovely run in transit here. MANHATTAN MONEY also resumes and wasn’t asked for a full effort in a recent trial but went to the line nicely. She showed enough last prep to have claims in this and should settle three-back-the-fence. ERISTIC was a smart recent trial winner and can lead this, while REGAL MAGIC had no luck at her last start before a spell but her previous form was handy enough. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – FINANCIAL SUPPORT EACHWAY Race 4 BARON BARSTOCK endured a torrid run in Saturday company last start and maps to lob one-out, one-back here. He recorded outstanding figures the start prior and this is a big drop in grade. ESSENTIAL SPICE comes out of the same race last start and is sure to attract plenty of support. She can box seat from her inside draw and get the run of the race. GILLESPIE resumes off the back of an impressive trial win when wide without cover and can give a sight on-speed. MANKIND will most likely settle last but has first-four claims and is another class-dropper in a stronger-than-usual Class One field. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – BARON BARSTOCK WIN Race 5 SEA SPRING went down narrowly in a slightly stronger event last start and should lead or breeze in a race which is about as exciting as a Carlton game. Has only won one from 21 starts to date but should be in this for a long way. BANTRY has a horror draw to overcome but comes out of a very fast-ran race last week and JT Warwick is a master at the quick back-up. REGENT STAR is another with a terrible draw and will be having his 27th start for his preparation but is racing well. TORTINA wasn’t suited last start but can settle three-back-the-fence here and improve at odds. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – SEA SPRING WIN Race 6 UNENDING looks ideally-placed dropping back to midweek 58+ grade after producing an eye-catching run in 64+ Saturday company last start. He has been returning good figures and should have this race at his mercy. PRESS THE PETAL has been racing for the best part of eight months but is always thereabouts in this class. MAGIC LAS VEGAS produced his best run for a while last start and will appreciate the return to Belmont, while TONED is yet to place in 12 starts at the track but is coming out of a hot race where he had no luck. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – UNENDING WIN Race 7 SALUBRIOUS is as quirky as they come but hasn’t seen a race of this nature for 18 months. His last 11 starts have been exclusively in Group, Listed, 64+, 66+ and 70+ grade and he now finds himself drawn perfectly in a Class 3 54+. His trial and last start were better than reads on paper. DEIMOS recorded huge figures last prep and resumes off the back of an eye-catching trial. Is likely to get a long way back here but is one to follow. NICCONI’S BOY has had the benefit of two solid recent trials and should box seat from barrier one. DRIFTSTAR prefers Harvey Fresh Full Cream over molasses but will lead and look the winner at some stage. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – SALUBRIOUS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3 1,2,4,6,7,12 2,6 1,2,3,4 Market Market
