Michael Heaton’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 7, 2023June 7, 2023 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 REGAL STATUE got going late in her debut second over 1000m and has had the benefit of both a run under her belt and race experience now. She looks suited stepping up to 1200m and should get a lovely run midfield-with-cover for Pike. GOLD KEEPER has placed at 5 of his 7 starts to date and has been tuned up with two handy trials ahead of his resumption. He’s by a noted wet-track sire in Snippetson. WEAPONIZE was doing his best work late behind Crystalize last start and should enjoy a soft run from his low draw. SECRET ATTIRE looks better suited dropping back to 1200m and showed enough last preparation to be breaking her maiden status soon. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – REGAL STATUE WIN RACE 2 TRULY AWESOME was scratched from yesterday’s Belmont meeting in preference for this and it looks like the right move. She steps to a mile for the first time but stuck on well last start, is edging closer to her first win and should be able to roll forward and have her main dangers settled behind her. YAKYAK is a 12-start maiden who went around at $71 at Northam last start and was squeezed up in the straight but still managed to hit the line well. He’s run fourth on a heavy8 track previously. CRYSTAL ROSE was good two starts ago before knocking up late after setting a fast tempo last time out. She can be in the finish if she can get things a bit cheaper in front. STREET MASCHINO next best. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – TRULY AWESOME WIN RACE 3 THE LUCKY CHIP is first-up 1300m on a heavy track but trialled up nicely and has performed better than his unplaced record suggests. Three starts ago he ran <1.5L off Catch These Hands and Missile Storm (beating home She’s Fit) and was wide throughout when beaten less than a length at his second-last start before a spell. YALLINGUP GIRL debuts off the back of a smart recent trial and looks as though she may have a lot more upside than most of her modest rivals. FLADDY PADDY is another debutant who fits the same bill. ALLEGRO SONATA has had the benefit of two trials ahead of his resumption and ran second to Sky Duke first-up last preparation. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE LUCKY CHIP WIN RACE 4 BRING THE BLING resumed first-up, no trial off almost eight months when running the fastest last furlong of the race down the straight-1000m course to finish third to Stevie’s May and subsequent winner Chipolartie. She’s run well on both soft7 and heavy8 tracks previously and Stevie’s May could make the form of her first-up run look even better at Belmont on Wednesday. FLURO NEURO has finished second at all 3 career runs and still looks very erratic and hard-going judging by his recent trial. Clearly has natural ability but is also a work in progress. TORPEDOMAN is drawn the favoured side of the track and did well to sit outside a fast tempo and run second first-up. STAR POWER has placed at 5 of her 10 starts but is struggling to break through. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – BRING THE BLING EACH-WAY RACE 5 AUNTY JEAN loves the straight-1000m course (4: 1-1-2) and is well placed resuming with 57kg in a C3 after contesting Saturday Graduation races at her last two starts before a spell, especially after hitting the line well to run third to Cash Away and Magic To Exceed at her most recent. CITY OF SIN grows a leg in the wet on the straight course. Has come from last to run third on a heavy9 down the straight and has also been a heavy8 winner at the track/distance from this exact barrier. STORM LORD ran well in a stronger race first-up, is drawn the favoured side of the track and has placed down the straight course on a soft7 track previously. CIAO LUNA came back a different horse last preparation and resumes first-up, no trial with W Pike aboard here. Keep safe. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – AUNTY JEAN EACH-WAY RACE 6 INVINCIBLE RUBY is a nice filly resuming. She was a debut winner on a heavy9 and the following preparation ran the fastest closing sectionals of the Placid Ark Stakes Prelude to finish <3L off Baby Paris, All Show and Just Go. She’ll have to get back from her wide draw but brings good form for a C1 on a bog track and her recent trial was super. ALBRIGHT is another talented 3YO filly making her return. Both career runs to date have been very good and it’d be no surprise to her go through the grades this time in provided she handles the wet tracks. TREASURED PRIZE is a lightly-raced 5YO who ran a big race first-up last campaign and is bred to enjoy these conditions. THE COOLAKIN KING has drawn awkwardly for his return but is capable on his day and ran a nose second to Prawns Eleven in a C3 with 1kg more first-up last prep. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 11 – 5 Suggested Bet – INVINCIBLE RUBY EACH-WAY Same Race Multi – Invincible Ruby (Top 3) + Albright (Top 3) RACE 7 SESSWA was caught in an awkward position in the run last start and was only gunned down in the final bound by the in-form Without Reg. Prior to that she was only 2.5L off Mojo Rhythm (now a 66+ W.A. Day Cup winner) and Cobbanco in a Saturday Graduation race and she’s by a noted wet-track sire in Sessions. Pike in the last it is. OUR NORMAN resumes off the back of a pretty good trial for a staying type and has raced in higher grade at his last seven starts, including a heavy8 66+ win beating Crescent City and The Velvet Queen. DAD’S BIGHEADED is a model of consistency and finished second to subsequent Saturday winner Ihts Closing Inn last time out. Always a chance in this class. CARTANERA should be improved second-up over a more suitable distances and will be doing her best work late. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SESSA WIN Quaddie (Race 4-7) 1,2,3,7,8 1,2,5,7,8 2,5,6,11 4,2,4 Market Market
