Can Illawarra on the back-up after their surprise loss to Melbourne, make it a clean sweep in the series versus Townsville?

The Hawks found shooting a basket beyond them in their (73-80) loss to Melbourne on Thursday night. Defensively they were able to hold Melbourne to 80 points but couldn’t buy a basket throughout the match.  The expected return of Kirk Penney was put on hold until Saturday night (apparently) and they will be hoping to keep their dominant record against the Crocs intact.  For Townsville they are focused on continuing their promising end of season form which includes wins against New Zealand and Sydney and two spirited losses to Adelaide and New Zealand away.  That most recent performance in New Zealand (100-93) was full of merit, particularly as the Breakers have since franked the form with a resounding win over Adelaide on Wednesday.

Prediction

Illawarra lead the series 3-0 and have dominated the Crocs all year with away wins (96-88) and (98-72) and a home drubbing (100-70).  With Penney back and the importance of this win in the context of the final series, Illawarra must bounce back with a victory.  But the spread and current form of both teams warrants a spec bet on the outsider at the line.
